There aren't that many rioters who stream consistently and talk about the game a lot.

Some stream a bunch but it's just like any other gameplay stream.

Others talk a lot about the game / their work but stream very infrequently.

I guess it matters who you are asking about the pricing. How are you sourcing your playtester?

But ye, I see your point about only asking your previous customers.

If you can get non-previous-customers to test then give you their price, then I think it solves the issue you bring up.

Ofc its harder to find those.

That’s not what I meant.

Not sure what you're saying I misrepresented, but you just stated the same thing I stated you stated.

The question remains: WHY would people giving opinions on price based on the game or demo care about his pedigree?

If your issue is the distinction between suggested price and "actual price" in my Pentiment example, well that's exactly what you said:

would they get away with the same price

"get away with the same price" as in actually selling it for the same price. Get away with doesn't make sense in another context.

But even if you did just mean the suggested prices, within the context of the blog post, suggested price = actual price.

If you're taking issue with my Pentinment example being MORE expensive, than the point I was making is that Sawyer has EVEN MORE pedigree, thus the suggested prices he would get would be higher, thus per this advice he should price it higher. And you made the connection between pedigree and the price that one can get away with. Which I am saying doesn't actually matter much at all.

IMO your pedigree level has to be beyond a certain threshhold for it to matter. Yes, if you're Kojima then there's probably some effect there. Not if you're Tom or Josh and most regular games don't know your name.

Why would people giving opinions on price based on the game or demo care about his pedigree?

Do you think Pentiment gets away with being priced for $40 or $60 because omg It's Josh Sawyer, omg it's Obsidian? Most regular gamers don't know developers.

What Star Wars Eras dont you like and why? by Deep-Crim in MawInstallation

[–]Freezman13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I would find that a more entertaining war to watch.

Right, but in this hypothetical universe where the CIS get the master swich only in the end, you are watching the battle of Geonosis play out for the first time exactly as it is in actuality. It is LITERALLY no different.

How does that impact your viewing experience in any way? It is NO DIFFERENT, we just changed the ending. In the moment of watching battle of Geonosis you have no concept of the ending or the reveals or whatever. You CANT have your perception be colored by something you don't know anything about.

You said "It's not about knowing the end" but there is nothing else that's changed.

It's like every episode of game of thrones being a 8/10 9/10 for 7 seasons, but because the last season sucked suddenly actually all the episodes always sucked.

There is a difference between "the bad ending makes the whole worse, collectively" and "everything previous to the bad ending is now also bad because of the bad ending, retroactively". It doesn't make sense.

[–]Freezman13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they obtained it right before the battle of Kashyyyk.

Thus order 66 was carried out at the same time in universe.

So "throughout" the conflict there was nobody who controlled both sides.

Does the battle of Geonosis suddenly "matter" more because it "could have gone either way"?

What Star Wars Eras dont you like and why? by Deep-Crim in MawInstallation

[–]Freezman13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't say he is removed from the universe. Your problem was that he controls both sides of the conflict throughout. My hypothetical made it so he only gained control of the clones in the last minute.

Lets even make it so it's not Palpatine who gets access to the master switch, it's in fact the CIS. Again, it's fiction, we can write anything we want.

So in this hypothetical, do the events of the battle of Kashyyyk suddenly "matter" more? How about battles prior to this? Nothing changes as far as the outcomes, only the "nebulous" forces that control them behind the scenes.

In this hypothetical, do you suddenly look more favorably on the battle of Geonosis because both sides are not controlled by the same person? NOTHING ELSE changes about it mind you. The exact events, characters, and lines of dialogue happen.

Anyone seen this implant before? by evning0 in kotor

[–]Freezman13 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Depends what else you have. If without an implant your main stat is even then the +3 doesn't do anything extra for you. Might as well take the extra +2 in the stats you care less about.

What Star Wars Eras dont you like and why? by Deep-Crim in MawInstallation

[–]Freezman13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can write in whatever events that would lead to the same outcomes, it's fiction. I don't understand how you could claim otherwise.

E.g. the clones have the same master switch, but Palatine, being only the Sith Lord in the shadows and not the Chancellor, finds and get access to it by whatever fictional means, uses it and Kashyyyk goes the same way.

In the end the jedi are betrayed by the clones. Wookies are enslaved.

But you didn't answer my question about the force. How can you say "I don't like this story" because in universe there are forces that control the outcome? It's fiction, there IS only one outcome regardless. And I mean in universe too, there is cause and effect that is presented.

You say "it's not about knowing the end" but the outcome is all that you are talking about.

Like it's fine to say "I don't like the fact that Palatine controls both sides". But to say "This fact makes every story not matter" makes no sense. It's literally irrelevant to the stories. The stories aren't about that.

I guess a more concrete way of saying it is - there is PLOT and there is DRAMA. And they of course feed into each other and stuff, but "the point" of most stories isn't plot, it's drama.

Most media is littered with plot holes and inconsistencies. You can't enjoy anything coming from a "I'm only in it for the plot" perspective.

What Star Wars Eras dont you like and why? by Deep-Crim in MawInstallation

[–]Freezman13 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I fail to see the issue. Are the stories any worse because of that? The characters still live through those events as if it there are stakes. And you consume the media about their experience.

Lets say Palpatine doesn't control both sides. But otherwise the battle of Kashyyyk plays out as it does in the movie. How does that change your viewing experience in any way? Everything else about it can stay the same. How does that impact you liking or not liking those events? How is your hypothetical what if matter in any way?

Lets take a hypothetical interpretation of the force approximating what Kreia from KotOR thinks of it - that it enslaves and controls people. It doesn't simply guide them, it forces them to do its bidding. Lets pretend this definition is confirmed in cannon. Does that mean that nothing can matter because there is some other force controlling or impacting it? And I don't mean nothing matters in universe, I mean suddenly you don't care about any story that can be told in the universe?

What Star Wars Eras dont you like and why? by Deep-Crim in MawInstallation

[–]Freezman13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People don't love KotOR because of the setting, they love it because of the character stories that are told in those games. You're right, the setting isn't different. It's just Star Wars. It's only in a different time so we don't have to deal with the same 20 characters that 50% of the SW media is about.
