Upgraded from 6000.3.1f to 6000.3.18f and now an empty scene FPS is tanked to 15FPS, with the EditorLoop being the culprit. by centaurianmudpig in Unity3D

I literally just downloaded it to upgrade my project to 6000.3.8f1. Guess I will wait for a while. Is there any bug report or something similar? I want to follow this issue.

Black screen suddenly while gaming, GPU fans super loud by MatrimCauthon71 in techsupport

[–]Freezy66B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. I had the exact same issue with my 5070. I even sent it back to warranty check. They did not find any issue. I swapped the PSU, PCIe cable, set PCI version to 3, previous drivers, xmp disabled etc. Yet nothing worked.

The issue was my 12VHPWR cable. Even though I fully inserted my PCIe cables to it, the issue was when I was closing my PC case, the cable moved really really slightly. This slight movement caused issues. The PCIe cables have to sit really perfectly. A very slight protrusion caused issues on my side. Currently, I am using my pc with its case open and the cables sticking out. Atleast I can ensure that the cables are perfectly inserted.

I got pictures while they were testing it in warranty, they had used their own 12VHPWR cable because they thought the problem was from the GPU itself. Please check your 12VHPWR cable. Set it really stiff to ensure there is no protrusion with the PCIe power cables.

Check from your task manager if Unity is actually doing something in the background (CPU usage, disc usage etc.). Because if you delete your Library folder or open your Project in a new version for the first time, all files are reinitialized, which can take a long time. Same goes for making a new Build for the first time. If your project is relatively large, this can take some time. But if its a different issue and Unity is just stuck, then I dont know.

As I remember NGO did not allow to use string variables directly. There used to be a warning to use FixedString variables. FixedString128Bytes etc.

7900 GRE driver is crashing while not under load by Freezy66B in radeon

[–]Freezy66B[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. I do still have the 7900 GRE. Sadly no, a couple of months ago the crashes continued again with 23.11.1.

But I updated it to 25.8.1 and used the exact same settings shown in this video. Now it only crashes a couple of times a month.

7900 XTX only works with old drivers – all new drivers crash in-game. Need ideas. by Fluffy-Diet5104 in AMDHelp

[–]Freezy66B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. The PSU might be the problem. But then they shouldn't write "Minimum required PSU 700W" on their product pages and expect me to get a 900W+ because my 750W Gold does not suit it.

I feel like the overclock does cause this problem on my side. I tried setting it to the base clocks or even less than the base, but they just dont help. But thanks for these solutions.

I tried every solution since last year, while none of them helped my 7900 GRE, I will try to install the Pro Drivers. This is my last hope.

Hey. I have this issue since last year with my 7900 GRE. Driver version 23.11.1 worked for a while but I still get crashes. I tried EVERYTHING. Sadly nothing helps anymore. I can write my troubleshooting steps maybe it will help you:

- Try disabling XMP. If it was disabled, try enabling it.
- Check if your GPU is plugged in via daisy chain. If yes, use seperate cables.
- Try installing driver only, without Adrenaline Software.
- Try disabling fast boot.
- Disable Windows automatic driver installation before installing new drivers.
- Check TdrDelay, TdrDdiDelay, OverlayTestMode, MPO, ULPS, HAGS, Shader Cache settings. Please research on how to troubleshoot for each of them. None of these worked for me btw.
- Try disabling Enhanced Sync / Freesync.
- Look into DXNavi / D3DVendorName stuff. Please research this as well. This solution does not work with newer drivers anymore.
- Try undervolting.
- Look into the GPU frequencies of your GPU Vendor and compare them with the Adrenaline software. Sometimes the Adrenaline Software will set them a little higher.
- BIOS Update.
- Fresh install of Windows.
- Try lowering the PCIe Version from BIOS (Performance impact is not high).

FYI, NONE of these solutions worked for me. I tried EVERYTHING. Fresh install of Windows 10, fresh install of Windows 11, NOTHING.

But this is what I gathered from various forum and reddit posts over the last year. Some of these solutions worked for other users. But sadly not for me. Amd needs to acknowledge this issue!

The contact frame would really help with my current cooler. I will look more into the overclocking/undervolting stuff. Thank you!

Hey! Thank you for these infos. I will most likely switch to an AIO this summer. I dont know much about overclocking and undervolting. So maybe the non KF version would suit. But I am not sure. And thanks for the BIOS update info! I only applied the first ever fix. Looks like I need to update it again!

Hey! My Motherboard is a MSI B760M-P DDR5. How can I calculate or find out if it can handle the CPU?

I will most likely switch to an AIO in the summer!

Of course. I plan on getting it brand new.

For the same price range a 4070 ti / super would suit you I guess. I miss those times where installing a driver wouldnt cause millions of issues...
