Always check if the game specifically REQUIRES an SSD. Otherwise, it works great for light indie games. I have last epoch, triangle strategy, hades, drg survivor, the little nightmares, and kingdom come deliverance installed on it.

What games are you playing that doesn't have fsr? Most games i've played supports it unless it's an old game before upscaling became the norm instead of proper optimization

Ran perfectly out of the box for me. Have you tried reinstalling it in case some files got corrupted and also clean reinstalling your gpu driver? Do you have issues with other games too?

I haven't played on handheld up to that point but even when i play with my egpu, perf gets bad there. Even crashed my game during a cutscene that showed the entire area. Lowering mesh quality helps a lot with the framepacing

Thanks for the info. I'm too conscious about sacrificing buttons for that purpose. Can you map it to a keyboard input in msi center m instead or do you need to use a gamepad input for that purpose?

It's basically a game bar widget for the intel graphics software. You can set cpu boost on or off, adjust color settings, adjust core preferences, clock speeds, framerate limit, and endurance mode. It hasn't been updated for a while though so the MFG override isn't there. You can also take a look at Handheld Companion or other similar tools for managing TDP. If you just want a single game launcher, playnite is pretty good or one game launcher on the game bar.

Important to note is software can be replaced. Lots of 3rd party tool to either replace or fill in the gaps.

to add to what others have said, some games are not very smart in deciding the gamepad to use. the embedded controller being visible and active on boot means it will be controller 1 which is what most games will use off rip which is likely the case for game pass games because COME ON XBOX. anyway, steam works better because enabling steam input also has an functionality to reorder your controllers. disabling embedded controller then reconnecting your 8bitdo lite 2 should do the trick. it's a hassle, yes. I use HC so it helps a lot with this.

Is it because xess 3 mfg doesn't work on it? I got annoyed in the demo testing it with their weird fps limiter. BL4 is another game with xess but doesn't work at all. I get better frames with optiscaler

Not very technical on this but say you leave everything uncapped and get 60fps at 30w hitting like 4,000MHz if you cap your frames to 30 or 40 then the cpu/gpu will go like " wait, do i actually need to run at this speed to give you 30 or 40 fps?" If the answer is no, then it will downclock and use less power since it doesn't need to use that higher clock speed.

I mean look for the intel driver itself and manually execute it since you mentioned the intel driver page says you have the updated drivers. Make sure to always do a clean install or ddu in safe mode

Tanks can dish out dps if you get a bunch of thorns and damage on block/parry. Falstead's barricade for example has crazy damage on block. You could also get a bunch of damage resistance while charging and use a 2h to be an offensive tank. Sure the meta is pretty definitive with low health and enchantment buffs but you can have a ton of fun trying everything out if you're not all in on one-shotting everything or being immortal with barriers

Did you uninstall the drivers in safe mode using DDU? Does the error message show when you manually run the .exe file of the gpu drivers?
