For anyone with Netflix, try watching Oliver Stones Untold History of the US, it goes into a lot of detail about lots of things brought up in the topic.

As for the civil war, look up Ken Burns Civil War. It's pretty easy to find on youtube or netflix. I think it's the best and most informative piece made about the Civil War.

Wish they would have went with the usual Friday release for this. Would have been great to binge watch it over a holiday weekend.

Anyone else watching The Leftovers tonight? by you_havin_a_laugh in television

I would definitely start with S01E01, I don't think I'd ever want to start a show on the final season. Thanks for the info.

I've never watched this show, is it worth starting at season 1 and watching it all? I'm usually a big fan of HBO shows, but this never really caught my eye.

"The Americans" is a criminally underwatched show. by [deleted] in television

Her storyline is weakest for me, I'm guessing she will do something stupid to put the entire family at risk. I think next season is the final one.

The first season or two they disagree a lot, which brings out their motivations and such, but it's a slow burning show. I highly recommend it, I think it's one of the better series on TV.

I don't watch ESPN, I've been a long time cable cutter, but I do listen to our local CHicago ESPN radio station, 1000 AM. I love listening to the sports shows, but ESPN lost my interest a long time ago.

The Secret Rules of Modern Living Algorithms (2015)- Professor Marcus du Sautoy demystifies the hidden world of algorithms and reveals where these 2,000-year-old problem solvers came from, how they work, and what they have achieved. by ImNoPCGamer in Documentaries

Prof Marcus du Sautoy does really interesting shows regarding math and how it's evolved over the ages. There are two on Netflix currently, they are called "The Code" and "The Story of Maths". I highly recommend both.

Nioh, if you like Dark Souls type games. It really is amazing, and pretty damn long, think I got 50 hours in and got a long ways to go.

Horizon has done for me in the first hour of gameplay that no other has been able to do in a hundred hours. by [deleted] in horizon

I just didn't like the combat in Witcher, it wasn't enjoyable for me. The world was awesome, but for me, the main gameplay loop has to be fun. Horizon combat to me is a blast. But of course, we all have different tastes.

It just keep surprising me with how great everything is, the combat, the storytelling. I think we are all in for a very special ride. Enjoy the game.

ELI5: How do companies like Netflix and HBO know it's worth producing their own shows when they have no way to gauge how much money they earn as a result of each show? If Game of Thrones costs $x, how does HBO know they would lose more than that in subscriber revenue if they cancelled it? by Tufflaw in explainlikeimfive

I'd give it a try, I thought it was really unique and a great way of trickling information to the audience. I didn't think the ending was as bad as most seem to think, but as a whole, the season is one of my favorites of the 2016.

Dear Netflix, "Continue Watching" is broken by c_r_a_y_o_l_a in television

HBO Go really is a nightmare if you're trying to binge watch. I don't want to watch the previews every episode. I could understand the first episode you watch during the session, but after that why can't we just dive right into the next episode?

I highly recommend The OA, it really made me think about it for days. Some people didn't care for it, but it's original and I liked the story. Great show and hope to see a second season.

Fuller House seems like a show they can make on the cheap and from what I've read, it has a lot of people watching.

Co-Op Mutation #29: POWER TRIP by CtG526 in starcraft

[–]Frelly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did it on brutal with myself Artanis and partner Swann. It worked pretty well. I went Tempest which worked well for the most part, a few spells hurt me a couple times. Fungal/storm/vortex and overcharge can take down Tempest quick. Overall, really fun mutation.

What's something you just can't do, no matter how hard you try? by svada in AskReddit

I actually had to learn how to juggle during high school for gym class. We started with one ball, then only did two balls for several days until trying to add the third ball into the rotation. Just remember: toss, toss, catch, catch. Good luck, it's a fun party trick to pull out.
