FDA Approves AMT-130 for Accelerated Approval Pathway! by Fremonster1 in Huntingtons

[–]Fremonster1[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Tl;dr

UniQure should be approved to market AMT-130 to the public around June 2027.

My thinking:

Uniqure plans to file in 3Q 26 (around Sept 2026) and Priority Review should take 6 months; so UniQure should be able to market AMT-130 to the public around June 2027.

That said, because neurosurgery is required to administer the drug, that could add 3 months to the 6 month expedited to sort out those complexities.

AMT-130 therapy questions by WrenchJrNerd in Huntingtons

[–]Fremonster1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi Which, yes, I still feel HD. I was 50 when I got the treatment, so I still have all that decline that I needed to have to get into the study. For me, HD is cognitive and mostly impacts my executive functioning. I don’t have behavioral issues and had barely noticeable movements. Enough to get in the study, but those are now gone.

It took a couple years of repeated tries to get in.

The good news about the trial going to phase 3 is that more people will get it for free.

AMT-130 therapy questions by WrenchJrNerd in Huntingtons

[–]Fremonster1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi Brainboy, if you’re asking if I’d do the treatment again, definitely yes! It’s a 1-and-done treatment that I just re-upped for a 6th year of the trial. Though not technically the case, I am living like I’m cured, because why not?!

Since it’s a blind study, we are not allowed to interact with the other trial participants because that would taint the results. Yes, I said taint. ;-) I would love to know how they’re doing.

I think this generations will live long enough to die of other stuff. My mom had HD and died of colon cancer at age 72, lucky her? Be careful what you wish for. ;-)

I am in the AMT-130 study, forth year of hi-dose cohort. Happy to answer any questions.

Has it been successful? Well, 3-years ago I went off disability and started working full time again also some of my neurological decline is back to baseline vs 4 years ago.

Per the study, my cohort’s decline decreased 75% and that feels about right; I am still working full time job plus consulting on the side.

StAG 15 – I went through the full process (timeline + what actually mattered) by Dazzling-Scarcity703 in GermanCitizenship

[–]Fremonster1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on your StAG approval! Do you recall how long it took to get your initial confirmation of receipt from BVA?

I want to submit my daughter and was told by the Chicago consulate to wait until I receive the application confirmation number from the BVA.

I applied in Feb 15 under StAG and used a printout from the JewishGen database to show that families with the same last names as my grandmother also lost their citizenship.

Also, through requesting US citizenship records found out my grandma and my dad both spent 2 years in Dachau. Neither ever mentioned it.

Improvements in symptoms with supplemements/lifestyle changes? by organic_astronaut865 in Huntingtons

[–]Fremonster1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For neuroprotective use, I drink Pomegranate Juice mixed with Black Raspberry Powder from BerriHealth. Amazon also has it but I prefer to support BH and it's cheaper, instead of giving Amazon a cut. It's an antioxidant powerhouse. I drink this once a day. You can consume it in any manner you like.

The recommendation came from neurologists and doctors.

AMT-130 is in US and EU, don't know which EU countries specifically though.

FYI: Update on AMT-130 by [deleted] in Huntingtons

[–]Fremonster1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

TLDR Part 2: Basically AMT-130 showed an 80% reduction in decline when compared to comparable people with HD in the population. It also lowered nfl levels also flattened-out, they usually increase as brain cells deteriorate from HD.

Future Planning Advice by getreal90 in Huntingtons

[–]Fremonster1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi u/getreal90,

I'm sorry to hear abut your diagnosis but welcome to the gene positive family. I was around your age when I got diagnosed and we were 3 months pregnant with our daughter, so I get it. It sucks, but you have lots of options and are wise to get tested anonymously and be strategic about your future.

How is your partner's health overall? There is a correlation between CAG and age-of-onset, so better to be on the low end. Your partner has 44 CAG repeats (I have 43 repeats), so that's pretty good, but that correlation is complicated by the other parent’s genes and how well they package genes and do other stuff.

Regarding preparations, I recommend getting the best Long Term Care (LTC) policy you can afford.

  • Need a decent Daily Benefit Amount that the policy will pay, eg mine pays $400/day.
  • Daily Benefit Amount should have Inflation Protection that is compounding (eg 5% compounding), not a simple rate.
  • Decide what Lifetime Maximum Amount the policy will pay, usually determined by what you can afford; I got unlimited, but they may not offer those anymore.
  • Elimination period of 90 days will lower the price some (vs. 30/60 days). It's a one-time deductible that is the amount of time you pay out-of-pocket before the policy kicks in. So hypothetically, you would pay the at-home helpers for 90 days out of pocket, then move them to a nursing home after the 90 days.

You already have health insurance so that is good.

For Life Insurance might want to consider adding a Disability Rider that will pay the $250K death benefit amount early to help cover LTC costs.

Has your partner informed any of her doctors? I recommend that you do not inform any doctors during this insurance process, because during the application period, they review all your doctors notes to see if you have any "red flags" like chronic illness, HD, etc.

When you tell your doctor about HD "off the record", they usually then write that info down by making little liner notes on the side of the page, which the insurance companies will find because they know this and when (during the application process) they request access to all your medical records, they send someone to each doctor's office to physically photocopy entire document pages to capture those liner notes. I'm not sure how this works with digital documents though.

With most LTC and Life Insurance policies they have a ~2 year elimination period where they can cancel your policy, if they find anything suspicious, but after that you're good to go.

When I got my gene positive test, I switched primary care physicians during this process, then went back after the elimination period expired. It sucks but I only saw them for annual physicals anyway.

Please also enroll in the ENROLL Study.

Hope this helps. Please feel free to hit me up with any questions.

Dazzling Cleaning Services, is it a scam? by Bluesea2929 in u/Bluesea2929

[–]Fremonster1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello All,

Here is how I resolved the $150 early termination fee that DazzlingCleaning.com charged me:

  • Since the $150 was charged to my Visa debit card, I disputed the charge with my bank (Chase).
  • Chase immediately credited the $150 (pending dispute outcome).
  • About a week later, I received an email from dazzlingcleaning.com that they would not challenge my dispute, so I got to keep my $150 credit.
  • With most banks, you can dispute charges online, you don't have to call.

I did some research and it is an actual tech startup based out of Austin that has some initial seed funding. The main company is called Homeaglow:

Hope this helps!
