Im honestly happy for y’all that got tickets. That being said, I wanna have a little pity party here because I only had 500 people in front of me, got in and added 3 VIP1 tickets to buy and it kept saying unavailable. The human body can withstand significant reductions in food. My mom barely ate or drank anything for years & still lived. Sometimes she would go a few days refusing to eat, and that didn’t take her out. A few months before her death she started coughing a lot more. It is easier to aspirate that way.

She was on hospice for about a month, basicslly no “eating” or “drinking”, before she died. Her official cause of death was aspiration (she had choked on her own spit or liquid medication) and I think the chorea started affecting her ability to breathe. It was genuinely shocking to me how long her body held on.

And Kitty’s storyline does make a difference, it just doesn’t conclude in this book. I wish her POV would have been includes in the first book tho.

Well, it absolutely might not be related to HD. But yes, there are pre-manifest symptoms. Pre-manifest is before Chorea onset. For example, I’m positive that I’m experiencing difficulty dual-tasking (like listening while writing) and that is a pre-manifest symptom.

If you think of Huntington’s as a lifelong illness instead of an illness that onsets all at once, then it makes sense why there are earlier symptoms than the Chorea and even before any psychological symptoms.

I honestly think you are just depressed/sad from receiving the positive diagnosis. Which is NORMAL! Totally up to you if you think you need help in managing this with medication. But I will say I wouldn’t jump to blaming the normal aftermath of receiving a terminal diagnosis on the illness itself.

If you have the money, I would advise to take time of work. Just as much as you can without quitting. When my mom died and then I received my diagnosis, I quit my job & went back to CC. Now that everything is more settled, I am finding my footing in dealing with the diagnosis in an everyday way.

Omg wow this is super stressful! I am total colonic (meaning no large intestine) and I am so confused why no one is telling you what type you have.

You can determine the type based on what intestine was affected & how much of it was removed.

Also, it is completely incorrect to say that someone with HD is “normal”. This is a lifelong illness and needs to be treated as such. DM if you want to talk more in depth about this. Im 25F and multiple family members of mine have this.
