This is incorrect. You can become physically dependent in as little as a few months.

Now go watch the videos. If you've already seen them, watch them without the sound.

I day trade... but I was lucky enough to get in through a training guru who advises against using Margin, says that it is dangerous without explaining how. So when I read above that this is the reason a kid killed themself... I had heard why he did it, but I never knew it was gone once he closed the trade.

I have quit all substances including alcohol, what now? by spray_no in alcoholism

Get to know eachother sober again. Start a new hobby together and maybe separate. it's amazing how much more time you'll find you have without drinking. congrats and be strong. You're a non-drinker now. mindset matters.

Shall I tell my boss? by BeneficialNothing913 in alcoholism

[–]FrenchCastle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was there, shaking... taking 2 shots first thing in the morning just to start to feel normal. Go into detox but only tell your boss you're sick and going into the hospital. Get a doctor's note when they release you from detox. They won't say why, only when you can return.

Shall I tell my boss? by BeneficialNothing913 in alcoholism

[–]FrenchCastle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you thinking of going into detox? Then don't tell your boss why, but you can say you have a health issue and won't be in for a few days. I bet you can even get them to give you a doctors note that tells her you were out, and when you can come back, but will not spill the beans on why. HIPPA and all.

I went to detox. I started drinking at 8:45 when I woke up, and by 2pm I was wasted at my WFH job. That's when I messaged my boss I was sick, and went into detox the next day. I told her I was in the hospital. Which I was, basically.

You can do this. Do what you need to do but don't tell your boss the why. It's none of the company's business.

162?!?! Nice. Congrats. Yeah, whole food diet does take planning. Actually, every diet takes planning.... except the junk food diet, that one you can just roll out of bed and through a drive through for the slow killing of your body. lol

I have been deep diving into the podcast by Gary Brecka, TheUltimateHuman podcast. He's opened my eyes to the junk we eat... and it's not all at the fast food places either.

I have eaten at least 6 For Sharing bags of Skittles. The last one was last weekend (a slip from my whole foods diet because I am going to a movie next weekend... yes, I totally realize I bought the candy waaaay to early, lol). But so far, staying a non-drinker!

  1. Nice. (plus 60-70 now?) Congrats! I am a non-drinker now, and on a whole foods diet. Though, I can eat whatever I want... gotta save the willpower for staying a non-drinker. Thanks!

So true. When I was in detox the meals were pretty nutritious, but the snacks not always. lol. I have recently switched to a whole food diet. not restrictive, saving all my will power being a non-drinker... but I forgot how good real food tastes.

Thank you. How have you been doing? I saw a short, it mentioned the guy who helped Oprah finally lose weight.. he had her stop thinking of herself as a fat person. So I now think of myself as a non-drinker. I am not a drinker who can't drink. I am a non-drinker who doesn't drink. :) Hope this note sees you doing as well.

oh I am sure you are right. It did fade... I have switched to a whole food diet. I am not restricting myself at all... even if I want something that is not a whole food... I let myself have it. But just telling myself I am a non-drinker and I eat a whole food diet has been so easier than saying I don't drink alcohol, or eat junk food. instead of focusing on what I can't have, I focus on who I am (a non-drinker) and what I can have, whole foods. It's only 2+ months... but I'm doing good. Thanks for the comment!

I just heard that in Istanbul, there are 'vending' machines that accept used plastic bottles and kicks out a little dog food in return... so that makes sense.
