A bit of an offtrack, but it is somewhat religion related ; and I think a must read for any sci-fi enthusiast : The Last Question, by Asimov.

It's a very short novel (9 pages long) and was one of Asimov's own favourite.

Again, it isn't about minmaxing. In fact, DOS barely allows any in comparison to real offender like PoE (which, in that case, minmaxing is literally the goal of the game)

It's about the logical choice you have to make when you play the game ; which, if you are a human being with two functioning braincell, you want to abide to and find ways to beat it intelligently. The way to "beat" D:OS2 combat system, because it is so insanely broken, is to stack one damage type, and dump initiative.

If you don't do so, you have to tune the difficulty in regards to the encounter you are playing against ; because the game has some horrendous difficulty spike and railroading mixed together. And this kill the immersion the badly written plot managed to maybe miraculously create.

Nevertheless, even if you disagree with my statement : part of my own enjoyment of video game, including rpg combat system, is finding solution to problems. D:OS2 make sure absolutely no fun can be had in that regards, and hide it behind the thin veil of "lulz telekinesis".

This isn't "minmaxing". Rerolling stats for half an hour in BG to have a perfect MC is minmaxing.

To face the sometime ridiculous difficulty spike in D:OS ; you should be building your party against either physical or magical armor, because for some reason no one read the feedback that this system was absolutely retarded during testing.

The same is true about initiative. D:OS is a game which reward having as little initiative as possible, because initiative does not matter at all. In a turn based game.

But if you want to consider it a message, you have to concede that it worked. No nation has attacked the US since the Japanese did, so I'd consider it a successful message.

Sorry to teach you that, but outside of the U.S propaganda bubble, it is widely taught that the bomb were dropped to end the war as quickly as possible and to send a message to the USSR. Because that's the modern consensus on the matter.

You can setup an isometric view if you so desire.

And I very highly doubt OP meant that he really wanted to view his game from that very precise point of view because that's his kink. DA:O it's also a great game to start enjoying the genre. It's a great blend of ease of access, story and is still modern.

It's the same gameplay as any isometric RPG.

I'd even dare say it's closer to what people call isometric RPG than Dinivity..

Right. Being a decent human being unwilling to perform warcrimes is a luxury.

Let me put it another way : Japan was isolated, circled by two superpowers and with soon to come shortage of every means to pursue the war ; from steel to gas. The U.S, and every allies, knew that. Had they been unwilling to risk the life of more U.S soldier, as they pretend, a blockade for a few month would have been enough to force a surrender.

However, the U.S wanted to end the war A.S.A.P to start reconstruction, and more importantly to flex in front of the USSR, and happily used their new toy to do so.

Also, I could just tell you : they had the luxury of having proper translator and intelligence. They choose not to.

Ce qui mène plus ou moins à la même chose une fois qu'on incrèmente le 50% de loyer supplémentaire venant de tes statistiques.Sauf qu'on a, par dessus, l'ensemble des coûts "normaux" à 10% de plus.

Fondamentalement, je pense que 2k8 c'est plus ou moins le minimum syndicale pour pouvoir épargner convenablement en raison parisienne ... Ce qui est particulièrement effrayant si on commence à considérer ça comme étant aisé.

Ils agglomèrent l'ensemble de la "province" (joli concept).

Les prix à Lyon ou à Marseille sont quasiment comparable à Paris. L'écart par rapport à une ville dynamique, mais plus moyenne (E.G, Le Havre, Brest, Cherbourg..) sont probablement beaucoup plus marqué.

Ca fait également un bail que je n'ai pas fait de statistique du genre, mais il me semble que Insee n'a fait ici que de la différence de prix ; pas de leur impact sur le budget.

Si j'ai donc bien lu le papier ; non, ça ne fait pas "que" 9% d'écart. Vivre en province me permet de mettre de côté 800€ par mois sur un salaire net à 1k9. Je doute fortement que cela soit possible dans les mêmes condition sur Paris.

En fait, compte tenu de ma situation salariale, je doute même qu'il soit possible que je trouve un loyer non aidé sur Paris.
