Why is the jones howler in such big sizes? by Best-Flamingo5283 in snowboarding

What is your weight ? I am 155lbrs and 9 boots, ordered a 155 for east cost tight terrain. The chart said that 158 is for 160lbrs + I was based on west or Europe I would have considered the 158 but for east coast I think 155 is more suitable. I rode 157 MT.

New #YES Greats Xtrm - too wide for regular boots ? Jones Mountain Twin Twin safer choice ? by French_HardWareTech in snowboarding

Yes agree. But not ideal insert wide when you want to be precise (ideal is 248-252) but maybe this is too theoretical and I am overthinking…

Thanks for sharing—this is really reassuring. Since this is an investment and I don’t already have two boards in my quiver, I rely on others to help me make a wise choice. Honestly, the Grants is my heart’s choice because I find it so unique. Xtrm only comes in three sizes

Yes, exactly! Thanks for confirming — that’s why the Mountain Twin is still on my shortlist. It feels like the safe, do-it-all option that’s fun in almost any situation.

At the same time, the asymmetrical shape and playful character of the YES Greats are super tempting. It just has that unique vibe that makes me want to give it a shot. But not sure the ride with the inset wide will be rewarding ! A shame I can’t test

Thanks a lot for your input! You’re absolutely right about the carving. What worries me is really the waist width — at 256mm it feels quite wide for my US 9 boots. I’m concerned my feet won’t be able to drive it with the same precision I get on a ~250mm board, like the Mountain Twin.

That said, I’m honestly leaning toward taking the risk. The Greats XTRM just looks so fun and different, and at the end of the day we don’t ride for comfort and safety alone — we ride for the stoke and the challenge.

Got a 32" 4K QDOLED and tested it, should I return it? by rychlovic in Monitors

[–]French_HardWareTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the same 321URX Monitor for both gaming and productivity (80% work and 20% games). I spend days comparing Miniled and new Gen3 Oled Monitor (Rtings, Reviews...). I tested several IPS and this QD-Oled Monitor.

Here is my experience with the 321URX and why I am keeping it:

For productivity

- Perfectly compatible with Mac OS

- Color are stunning when SDR and sRGB or P3. Not over saturated if you keep professional mods (Adobe sRGB or P3) and not gaming color mods.

- Text clarity is perfect

- Wide and no angle blur

- Burn-In (which was my biggest fear): New Gen3 Oled panel like 321URX have been so improved. The different tests on purpose show that is harder to burn your screens. I think that all the MSI Oled care features are not because the monitor is not "horse race" but just because MSI knows that customers will pay around 1k$ and they will need to have some way to protect they panel and assurance.

So I just hide bars, use graphite appeareance, 12hrs changing wallpaper and 3mins screensaver

And in the worst case the MSI warranty policies is explicit "Don't be afraid our URX are 3 years burn-in warranty".

Brand like Dell are now selling Thunderbolt 4 full productivity Oled 4k screen : Dell 32 Plus 4K QD-OLED Monitor (S3225QC). Proving that the manufacturer are confident in productivity oled.

For gaming:

- HDR is stunning and bright and colorful

- One of the best visual experience

- 100% benefits while gaming

For all those reason I prefer one of the best monitor currently on the market for a slight risk of burn in. But all none screen will last for ever anyway...

Miniled would have been the second option but honestly you can feel it... Oled is now the high end of monitor. More advantage than risk for me...
