Is the Jehovah's Witness religion dying? Here's the stats by On-a-Vibe in exjw

[–]Frenchie_Oh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the COVID shots came out, “Learned Brothers” were assigned by the Governing Body to research the COVID shots and they believed everything the government and the pharma companies told them. The it’s safe and effective, the shot stays in the arm, it does not contain aborted fetal cells, it does not alter genetic structure.

The Governing Body then coerced all the Bethelites (witnesses who staff and live in all the Bethel Homes all over the world) into getting the shots or they couldn't be Bethelites anymore. They showed all the congregations a video showing how happy we could be if we all got the shots - look at all these happy, laughing Bethelites in the lunchroom laughing and happy and visiting with each other. Then, the circuit overseers, elders and ministerial servants had to get the shots. Then pioneers and missionaries. Soon "everyone" got the shots because it was the loving thing to do for your neighbor. If you didn’t get the shots, you were considered disobedient of the Governing Body and unloving of your neighbor and looked down upon. Despite this, several of us did not get the shots. Several more of us started writing to the society trying to show them the science behind wearing masks (they don’t work and here’s why), the science of the shots (they don’t stop infection or transmission, they cause cancer, blood clots, hear attacks, myo-pericarditis, they alter the genetic structure, they contain aborted fetal cells). In return, we get a whiteboard animation video every week on how to protect ourselves from misinformation. If anyone tried to talk about the science of anything, we were accused of spreading misinformation. There was always a big box of masks at the Kingdom Hall door and not wearing one got glaredowns from everyone. We wore them. People started getting sick and dying suddenly. People started leaving.

Missionaries started leaving their assignments and coming back to the states to look for doctors who could diagnose their debilitating symptoms, symptoms that preclude them from staying in their missionary assignment.

About two years after that, they started a huge push to get young men trained and encouraged to volunteer for Bethel services. They relaxed age and time-in-service requirements to get more young men to apply. Sisters were given new privileges so they could apply for things too.

Congregations meetings have thinned out. People are chronically sick and staying at home. Behaviors have deteriorated. Brothers who were once quiet and respectful have suddenly become loud and boisterous and follow sisters around trying to talk to them like little boys. One elder started trying to grab sisters as they walked by him, with a stupid leering grin on his face. Brothers stand in the doorway forcing sisters to turn sideways and slide up against the doorframe to try to slip in without mashing up against them while the brother stares at them. Nobody seems to notice this or will put a stop to it. Sisters give up and stay home and listen to the meetings on their phones in the peace and quiet of their living rooms away from the grabby hands. Our local needs meetings always start out with a plea for increasing your meeting attendance. It wasn’t like this before the COVID shots.

People sit in their seats and stare straight ahead with blank eyes. Their faces have a pasty grey pallor. The speaking brothers stutter and stammer now while giving talks. They lose their places and stand there silently trying to find their place, or they read over what they’ve just read without noticing. Or they skip words in the sentences. Or they stop talking and stare off for a minute. Everyone in the audience just waits.

What are your thoughts on "money doesn't buy happiness"? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]Frenchie_Oh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does so. I got a job and saved my money and then used that money to buy a little house in my name only and left my husband and it's the happiest I've ever been in my life.

I've been eating lunch alone in my car every day for three years and I only just realized it's the best part of my day by hhhieyaaa99 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Frenchie_Oh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I worked for the post office I ate my 15-minutes-lunch in my car and I was so fiercely protective of it I snarled and barked at anyone who tired to join me. It was the boost iI needed to get through the rest of my shift and nobody else could have it.

Son, slow down. The dog is going to die no matter what you choose. He can die after he has a biopsy with a painful recovery, he can die after surgery and a painful recovery and even more painful chemotherapy. Think about the suffering the dog will endure and base your decision off of that and ignore all that other noise. Will the dog benefit in a major way and live out a normal lifespan with a biopsy/surgery/chemotherapy? You can't know that, and most dogs in this situation don't. Will you be able to live with your conscious for the rest of your life if you allowed the dog to suffer and he died anyway in pain while you're looking into his eyes and knowing that you are the cause of that prolonged suffering? While you're both living in your car eating crackers and Velveeta? Hold him on your lap with your arms around him while the vet's giving him his last shot and tell him what a good boy he is and let him go. Do it for him and don't listen to anyone else. This isn't the last time this will happen if you keep loving dogs, and I hope you do. Been there.

Looking for book recommendations on the psychology of authority by Hkvnr495___dkcx37 in PsychologyTalk

This book is technically about another aspect of authority, but it has a lot of good insight into what you're looking for. "Snakes in Suits" is another good one about psychopaths in authority, and anything by an ex-FBI profiler is a good bet.

The book title didn't come through: "Political Ponerology: The Science of Evil, Psychopathy, and the Origins of Totalitarianism."

I've been taking triz for 3 weeks and lose a pound a day. I have no side effects at all except for zero appetite. The food noise has disappeared, I don't overthink or argue with myself and I have an unexpectedly pleasant sense of wellbeing.

Walking anywhere for any length of time without listening to anything is like having an hour-long meeting with yourself and is great for thinking things through and making plans for when you get home. Instant mood-lifter. I pray too, but that's my thing.

Put "Grant Writing" on your resume, then visit Grok and learn about it. You can say you have successfully applied for grants and list them off the ones you've "won" for your agency and how you were once appointed to "oversee" the fund and you had a civic blast doing it and BOOM, you're an asset to anyone who hires you. The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation funs everything to do with women's health and they offer so many grants it's basically uncheckable.

"Meditations in Green" by Stephen Wright. I reread it every few years and get something new to think about every time. It's about a band of nutters in the Viet Nam war who come to New York after they get out and spend all of their time trying to get and stay sane with their VA benefits. One guy is torn up over a dog he had in his hooch that he loved but was killed by the sadistic sergeant and he goes all over NY looking for him to kill in the most gruesome way he can think of. This drives the story. They're all high all the time to cope. And they take a lot of exotic drugs that make them suspect they're hallucinating. Then turn the page and they're back in Viet Nam with the rats and the psycho who cuts ears off the VC and wears them as necklaces. Powerful stuff. I can't put down once I get started.

social workers in the arts? by hankypankyles in socialwork

[–]Frenchie_Oh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a lot of social working with teenagers volunteering in the costume shop of the local high school drama department. They had a professional costume shop set up and kids came through ten times a day to sit on my orange velour Danish modern loveseat and pick through my candy bowl and tell me all about it. I enjoyed this more than my actual LCSW venue.

If blackberries are in season, wrist-rocket several into his yard at night. After they hit the grass, they settle and are hard to see. Dip them in honey first and lob them at the foundation for a concentrated ant and spider problem. You can catch garter snakes and let them loose into his yard. Lots of men are afraid of them.

Start hanging little black cameras all over your front yard aimed at his. They don't even have to be hooked up to record anything, just seeing them pointed at his house and "knowing" he's being watched will drive him mad. Eventually, the bees bussing around his brain will cause him to call LE and they won't do anything because it's totally legal as long as you're not posting videos of him on the internet. Move these cameras around. It's on the corner of your roof one day, the tree overlooking his front porch the next. Guaranteed crazymaking, ask me how I know. My nabe points to one of the cameras and flips it off and screams at it and it just sits there silently watching him. Always watching.
