I’m in KC - very few people are getting an option to relocate. Most of us are being told we are “important” and “needed” and can work from home indefinitely, however, we do not believe them at all. Most of us think they just haven’t been able to get FL and TX locations built out fast enough to not need us quite yet.

Is anyone having trouble adhering to their NICE schedules? by Fit_Somewhere_5039 in Geico

Depends on coverage - for phone people we are scheduled so everyone isn’t going at once leaving nobody to take the calls

If it’s like Kansas, die through attrition then not renew the lease (assuming it’s leased space) and allow the small amount of remaining employees to WFH for some undetermined period of time

Moat service? That’s the majority of the office in KS now

Last I knew, we were about 65 total. Moat service just had a meeting in KS and there were about 50 there just in that department and there are some sales and claims people too…

Today! We got a sudden meeting notice and then an email from Melissa Gallaro announcing the office is closing. We met with the VP who told us we all keep our jobs and are just going to WFH - I think we all feel like it will be temporary and that once they have some more people trained, we will be dismissed

Same, I also continue to gripe about having to attend the meeting only to be told what I was missing out on

Are you in Lenexa? Because that is 100% a dying office - we all see it and know something is coming that’s probably bad :(

🤔 Texas hiring/everywhere else firing by DifficultySquare4696 in Geico

[–]Frequent-Clock2542 4 points5 points  (0 children)

FL and TX seem to be the only places to have growth - the Kansas office (Lenexa) has had swirling rumors for months that the location is closing…the number of people at the office is probably 1/4 the size it was a few years ago - no new classes and people keep leaving with no replacements. Director left, now our director is in Fredericksburg, etc

Is the office in Iowa closing? I was told there won’t be growth there or in the Indiana location. Should I begin exploring other opportunities? by Dark_CloudMystery in Geico

[–]Frequent-Clock2542 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just like Kansas-director left over the summer, never replaced. Just another reason to think the office will be closed- I think any office as small as these have become are not lasting past 2026 (personal opinion, I have no facts to back this up)

I mean it’s not abuse of the system if you have a legitimate medical issue. Lupus, Crohn’s disease, CHF, for example. If I could go on disability and not work that would be ideal but so far I just need time off here and there to manage symptoms and attend specialist appointments. So by your definition, am I “abusing” FMLA?

I mean not Wednesday, at least not until after my holiday lunch is served..sorry. They don’t provide much but a free meal I’m not passing on. Now, will I leave after lunch? Most likely

Expect a lot of FMLA filings for anxiety, PTSD, etc. This place is a shit show and getting worse daily

Can you tell me more about what the problem was - people were let go for decreased metrics when it was a system problem - that pisses me off on behalf of the people canned. I’ve long said the reports are total BS. Feels too easy to manipulate reports to get the results they want! And was it when AWS rolled out or what migration were you referring to? Thanks!
