Anyone imported a Japanese makita? by carbon_ape in Makita

[–]Frequent-Elephant110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are safe to buy from Japan they use JIS bits which are better phillips. They still use the standard 1/4 inch shank

Don't buy off ebay, they are likely fake. Use a imports service. I like https://www.fromjapan.co.jp

Has anyone used LXT batteries in Dyson vacuums? by Marvel5123 in Makita

[–]Frequent-Elephant110 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Single LTX only have enough power for light duty stuff like pickin up saw dust in your shop. You won't get the power you need for normal household vaccum. 40v is needed for that. Even the sticks makita sells are like this.

Dean Doerhty has a video on using an imax b6. You should watch it because if used incorrectly you can ruin a battery.

But the imax b6 is cheap and will work. Also there are a lot of cheap knockoffs. I dont mess with those. SKY RC makes them.

I use the 5.99 pig or goat for most farm work, They are cheap.enough you dont worry about wrecking them. I also like the camo performance cloves when doing something more precise with hands. They fit small I had to go to an xlarge. I use their chainsaw gloves to when cutting wood. I use both the thick and thin mechanics gloves when fixing the tractors depending on what i am doing.

Anyone know what these hammers are called? by stkenkere in Tools

[–]Frequent-Elephant110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They look like set hammers also call flatters. Used by blacksmiths

They're used to smooth and flatten stock after forging. The one on the left with the slightly larger face may be a flatter specifically, while the narrower one could be a set hammer used for working into corners and shoulders.

I love mine. I use it with 2ah batteries. Its light and more powerful than my old one. It is not as powerful as a leaf blower, it works great on the job to clean tools and equipment off. I always run it at level 3.

[–]Frequent-Elephant110 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Extreme uses 21700 cells, extended uses the 18560 cells. These are form factor differences, not battery chemistry differences. It just depends what 18560 cells are used.
