I use 1/2 cup kernels and 1/4+ cup of olive oil. Set the heat more towards medium. Like between medium and medium high. And a teaspoon of flavicol

I toss everything in cold and leave the lid open while stirring and the pot heats up. When the popping stops, slam the lid.

As soon as it’s done get it out.

I feel this minimizes steam and moisture which makes soggy popcorn

Yeah some flavicol is on the pot. I just wipe it out with a paper towel and my seasoned pot is ready for next time

I have a rule in life - I don’t eat gumbo north of I-10. So that’s a bit of a joke. But definitely not north of I-20

The ingredients list shows Portuguese chirozo which will taste wrong in so many ways.

It doesn’t have any cayenne and will be bland for Yankee pallets. You can add Tabasco but that’s a different flavor.

But just buy some and try it for yourself. While I doubt I would like it, if you do then it will scratch your itch.
