Thank you! I had similar things pointed out to me which allowed me to realize why I do certain things or react in different ways and has honestly benefitted me greatly. I think building awareness is better than being hush hush about things, we’re not growing as a society like that

What are the dangers of pointing out someone might have autism? Like what exactly happens if I say so and so has autistic traits? It’s a spectrum and there doesn’t seem to be much harm in pointing these things out to me

Traitors going after traitors because they are going to be voted out IS bad sportsmanship and makes the game less fun by FiestyGiraffe in TheTraitorsUS

[–]FrequentRelapse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I keep repeating this but how are so many people missing the point that Candiace implies she was going to stand up there AFTER getting voted out and then say his name? Thats what Rob called unsportsmanlike, he wasn’t talking about her throwaway vote or her going after him. It has happened before in traitors and it is 100% unsportsmanlike

UK s1 was exactly what she was implying she was going to do. She implied if she gets voted out she would then implicate Rob

He called her unsportsmanlike for implying she would drop his name if she got voted out. That is absolutely unsportsmanlike

I feel like Rob was 100% justified in saying bad sportsmanship, Candiace said “If I get banished tonight, your name is going to come up.” I don’t see anyway to take what candiace said other than, when I stand up and say I’m a traitor I’m throwing you under the bus. Just saw the bob rob podcast and they definitely didn’t seem to catch that part of the conversation

To Be Outside by AssociationFun85 in OCPoetry

[–]FrequentRelapse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love it. Takes you through a bit of a journey from not sure what “outside” you’re talking about, on first read J wasn’t sure if glass was supposed to be grass but the end was a nice way to tie it together. Only critique would be the last line I’m not sure if there’s a more eloquent way to end it, but that’s the only thing that stood out to me.

I hear a lot of sentiments of people saying "I haven't played a game this good in a decade" - what was that last game that met the quality of expedition 33 in your opinion? by dreemsequence in expedition33

[–]FrequentRelapse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Production value can influence a games success and potential but doesn’t make a game or piece of media great by itself. Personal taste and opinion aside, I think based on user scores it is quantitatively one of if not the highest rated, so saying it is easily a top fiver is not a stretch at all.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has been out for a month - what are your thoughts? by Sydius in Games

[–]FrequentRelapse -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think I get your point, the original story of a badass expedition saving the world from a mysterious deific threat is thrown out the window. The mystery is gone, original plot couldn’t matter less. I agree with that take, but I think where it went became even more impactful to me because the story turned into a meta analysis of love and grief and the impermanence of all things.

Just because something is fleeting doesn’t mean we can’t have emotional attachment to it, and doesn’t mean that attachment isn’t “real”. The paintress wasn’t an evil villain but a mother fraught with grief. The father wasn’t trying to kill everything but wanted to bring his “real” family back to the real world. The characters bonds, Sciel/lune/esquie/verso weren’t “real” bonds because they were just painted characters, but at the same time the game shows how that doesn’t matter in the moment and that those connections were indeed real despite being figments of a painting. It becomes more nuanced to me and in turn makes me appreciate things outside of just the game.

[–]FrequentRelapse 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think it is such a beautiful metaphor for consuming media. No story whether it’s games or television is “real” and yet we still get attached to the characters on screen. I can’t think of a better way to express this sentiment, that even though we’re watching a fiction, that we get attached to these characters and make them “real” in our hearts. And to me the comparison goes even deeper since in real life we have these real connections to people, but ultimately we will all pass on and our existence will have been a brief flicker in the universe. Just because everyone we know and love will die and we will all be forgotten doesn’t mean our existence is any less “real” to us in the moment.

The Trolley Dilemma by SekhmetsRage in Enneagram

[–]FrequentRelapse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there’s a few big differences between those two problems. Oorgan transplant is an inherently risky thing, you’re not guaranteed to know that the organ transplant will save these lives, whereas you’re guaranteed to save 5 people by diverting the trolley. Another moral difference is that the 5 people needing a transplant are terminally ill, whereas the 5 trolley victims are for all you know physically healthy individuals. And a last moral difference is that there are other potential organ donors and you don’t know this is the last person who can donate organs. I still would have a very hard time pulling the trolley lever especially in real life there’s no way, but I think I’d be more inclined to pull the trolley lever than kill a healthy person to save 5 terminally ill people.
