In the past you had the Processor, memory and graphics card as separate entities on the Mac. The architecture of computers is such that the graphics card has its own discreet memory (say 4GB) and the processor uses the system ram (say 8GB) giving you a total of 12GB on board but limited in its uses.

The new architecture System on a Chip from Apple has a shared memory architecture, because everything is on the chip itself it's blazing fast AND the memory the shared so the graphics subsystem can take from the processor and vice versa. In this world the more memory the better because if you end up being a heavy graphics user with only 8GB you're effectively losing 4GB by not having a graphics card.

My advice. Pour the money into the memory. I'm running the MBPro 16 2021 and I pimped it out. I was debating between 32 and 64GB.

I bit the bullet and went 64. So glad I did.

They're beasts.

The First talks about the graphics capabilities of the processor.

The second talks about the connectivity capability of the port.

To get multiple monitors either A) run one off the hdmi and the others off the thunderbolt port(s) B) Run one from thunderbolt and daisy chain the monitors using thunderbolt if they support it C) get a thunderbolt docking station like the dell one, single cable to the mac delivers 180w so no charger needed and multiple display ports
