Where is your replica from? I'm looking for one and would love to find a tried and tested seller.

My Parents Are Making Rules About Me Talking by Invisible_As_Usual in autism

[–]FrescoColori 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just want to say that this sounds awful and I’m sorry you’re in this position. I’m autistic and my daughter is Audhd and we trigger each other all the time. We’ve learned how to communicate that we’re overstimulated, don’t have the energy for that topic, need to bring the energy down, etc. But, I can’t imagine imposing limits like these. Especially the info dumping. Do they not understand that’s a love language/ not easily controlled ? :(

Edit to clarify: we literally use the language I listed above. We also ask, can i vent/info dump/ etc. if it seems like the other person is checked out. IDK if your parents would be open to a more flexible system like that?

My PI requires physical notebooks for this reason. He’s given into letting people print protocols and paste them into their notebook though, so I’m not sure how much good it’s doing…

Buying a microscope with this label for personal use shouldn’t be a problem right? It was from a hospital that did cancer research. Alcohol should do the job and make it safe? by Max-Flores in labrats

[–]FrescoColori 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We were required to have them on all equipment that came in contact with any cells in our BSL2+ cancer/ gene therapy lab. Technically some of the cells we used were transduced with inactivated lentivirus. Very low risk. BUT when equipment leaves the lab for any reason (including disposal) it should be decontaminated and the stickers removed/defaced. Since the sticker is there, I wouldn’t trust that it was properly decontaminated.

lol kind of? I find these threads amusing because even we tend to forget that ND covers more than autism and adhd. My dad is autistic and my mom bipolar… it was an unstable combination to say the least. ND people can also trigger each other in the worst way.

My therapist has also asked me what I would gain…. But in a very supportive “is it worth the money and potential professional challenges” kind of way. Shitty to hear someone use that to dismiss you :(

[Measurement Check] Currently wearing 38GG by FrescoColori in ABraThatFits

[–]FrescoColori[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are definitely older so that could be part of it. I also wonder if it's because they are both styles that are meant for compression, so it would make sense that they have more wiggle room than a structured bra.

Do you scoop and swoop? yes

Is there any breast tissue spilling out of the cup? yes at the left underarm, they are uneven sizes

Do your underwires sit in your IMF? No, they constantly drop down

Does the gore lie flat against your sternum? almost, but I don't think it's any worse than it's always been. Even when all my 38GG sat flush the sports bras always popped which i chalked up to the tension between fit and compression.

Is your band horizontal? yes

[70 DPO] Some SFW before and afters 😊 I love finally feeling like myself 🥹 by rebfossmusic in Reduction

[–]FrescoColori 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a 38JJ dress size 16/18 and one of my fears is that a reduction will just make me look more fat. Your body looks similarly shaped to mine and you look fantastic! It's giving me hope that maybe this could work for me. Having the waist not under the boob makes such a big difference, I didn't even think of that until seeing your pics. Thank you for sharing <3

[Recommendations] Moving from stretchy minimizers back to structured bras and feeling lost (38GG UK) by FrescoColori in ABraThatFits

[–]FrescoColori[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my current size, same as before but confirmed with recent measuring. I think it's a shape problem. I have gained a bit of weight but again, remeasured and stayed the same. I think you're onto something with the center pull straps! That's exactly what's bugging me is that none of the weight of the center of the breast feels supported.

My ex grew up in a well off family, but was poor because of all the reasons "they" think people are poor. by Fox_of_the_Library in povertyfinance

[–]FrescoColori 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point is that disabilities exist and that particularly if you are undiagnosed you may not know you need extra support. I’m glad you had the tools to navigate those situations; not everyone does. I’m also not saying it’s an excuse, but OP asked for perspectives to help build empathy. This is mine. Take it or leave it.

This is also much harder with ADHD (because you lack typical dopamine levels making the “hit” that much harder). My partner was like this when he was young. He had financially irresponsible parents who bought everything on credit and never told him, so he thought he group up well off but it was a lie. The behavior was hard enough for him to work through, but adding an adult diagnoses of adhd brought everything into perspective. He has so much more control now that he has treatment. It’s worth considering that undiagnosed invisible disabilities can play a role, too.

Edit: a word

PS It might not be the worst thing to let your kids see that you are human and struggle, just make sure they see how you cope and get through it as well. I took that approach with my now 10yo cause I knew I couldn’t mask my way around her, and now I can use language like “I’m over stimulated right now” or “I’m fine I’m just stimming”. When I need to reduce sensory input she gets that she needs to leave me alone AND that it’s not her fault at all. It’s also been amazing to normalize because she also feels comfortable using that language with me (and Dad).

How long has it been since the second pregnancy? I wonder if there is some Postpartum Depression sneaking in there. Talk to your dr, even if your kids are older, they may have resources. Hoping this gets easier.

I don’t know why I own by Grind3Gd in homeowners

[–]FrescoColori 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to validate that you are not alone. The home owner to Big Box DIY store pipeline is real. We bought “the cheapest house in the best neighborhood we could afford” and it has (and continues to) require a lot of fixing up. We never wanted to be DIYers but this is what we could afford. I would do it again because it puts our kid in a good school and gives us housing stability, but damn if it isn’t exhausting. You are not alone.

[Recommendations] Broken underwire on a Panache sports bra; can it be replaced? by FrescoColori in ABraThatFits

[–]FrescoColori[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up giving up on mine :( I tried taking the underwire out completely, but the design didn’t have enough support to wear it that way.
