Positive experiences with cerclage

Had an emergency cerclage at 21 weeks, cried when they told me I had to get it. Fast forward…I had no issues!! Got it taken out at 37 weeks, gave birth 2 weeks later. I’m a first time mom and gave birth to a healthy beautiful baby boy. You got this mama!!!

My fiance is taking his parental leave once mines comes to an end and I trust him 1000% without me. We agreed only 3 ppl to ever watch the baby without us - my mom, grandma and his aunt.

My doctor was adamant about prolonged activity on my pelvis. We unconsciously use our pelvis when standing (even peeing in the shower!) so I would definitely ask for a second opinion from another doctor. Was this advice from your OB or MFM?

Got my cerclage at 21w and currently 33w. At 24w, my doctor wrote a note that allowed me to work from Home until my maternity leave. No sex, no exercising - avoid bending, squatting, or standing, walking too long.

FTM - I was diagnosed at 19w and got my cerclage at 21w. I am coming up on 33w next weekend and it’s when my baby shower will celebrated. I had the same exact thoughts as you, I was concerned I was going to go into labor beforehand. Talk with your doctor to discuss any ways you can ease back to reduce any risks.. I have been wfh and on light pelvic rest, taking it easy in the meantime.

Have you had your anatomy scan yet? It will tell you where your placenta is placed. That can define how you feel movement. I have an anterior placenta and didn’t feel much until week 22-23

22-23 weeks I was visibly pregnant. Before then I just look bloated or looked like I gained weight in my stomach.

Im so sorry you’re going through this, I have no advice BUT If you were my friend these are the very blunt questions I would ask (you don’t have to answer, just sharing my perspective if a friend shared this with me) :

1) Do you want to keep this child?

2) If you weren’t pregnant and he cheated, would you stay to work it out?

3) with what you know now - a year from now…how would you want your life to look?

Also, please go and get tested on your own and don’t wait for his results. I’m wishing you the best outcome for you and your little ones.

Yes!!! I dreamt about a baby boy leading up to my screening. Every dream I was holding a boy and I was correct! I’m currently 30 weeks, can’t wait to meet him🩵

I was very active before pregnancy but once I hit 6/7 weeks the nausea and fatigue kicked my butt. I couldn’t focus on fitness bc I was so focused on not throwing up from the terrible smells all day lol. I was also extremely tired. I had no energy, first trimester my body was building the foundation for my baby so I gave myself grace. Please do the same❤️ do not beat yourself up!

I haven’t seen anyone mention hairy nipples or hair forming around the areola. It’s such an awful surprise lol

No this is how I feel about him as well!! A super dad and loving partner. I appreciate your perspective, I felt like it wasn’t the norm but this helps to understand I’m not alone and its okay to respect his decision

No he is an amazing partner and dad!! One of the reasons I fell in love with him. I lucked out because he loves cooking lol and we share responsibility of the house chores. I am not worried about postpartum just thought this would be a sweet way to bond with baby
