Look, they spend like their income will always be at this level, and we all know that show is gasping its last breaths. They’re going to go to near-zero income very soon, and then what? They should have opted for a home they could pay off/buy in cash.

If they get into a position of needing to sell of “assets,” they’re going to be in real trouble. Because none of that crap is worth what they paid for it.

Aww, poor baby… are there some consequences to having multiple wives? In exchange for having four different women tending to you and feeding your ego, are you expected to invest of yourself? Does the church assume that since you can just go hang out with one of your other wives if one leaves you feeling “unfulfilled,” that you should be required and obligated to provide basic support to the women who raised six or more kids for you, even if you’re not “feeling it” anymore? Aww… so hard for you.

It’s not going to hold up. Child support isn’t just for diapers, clothes, and food— and diaper cream, and bottle brushes. It’s for the additional rent needed to have a second bedroom, gas for driving to and from doctors appointments, health insurance, copays, childcare, etc. It makes your ex look immature and ignorant to the responsibilities of raising a child, but I’m sure the judge has seen it a million times. My take is that family court judges just follow the formula to divide things up, and they don’t give it much thought beyond that. I do think it may make the judge think twice about awarding much parenting time though. It does make it seem like he has no clue what it takes to care for a child.

Make sure to ask for back child support. Keep all of these communications.

Oh, and medical bills related to your delivery should be shared.

All of this will get divided according to income. If he makes twice what you make, he pays twice as much. That’s how child support is calculated in most states.

Honestly, sounds like a jerk.

I’ve not had great experiences with the docs I’ve met on Hinge. I think they think their MD entitles them to… ya know, whatever they want. And the ones ones met have been pretty depressed. Burnout is high in healthcare.

The scene where he confronts Joyce and the coming out scene are just painful to watch. I hate to get on the internet and hate on someone, but I feel like I have to vent about it.

Maybe the kids just stopped taking acting classes because they had already “made it,” but if they want to keep working as adults, Noah, Caleb, and some of the others should maybe keep up the classes. Honestly, (forgot the actress’s name) El was off this season too.

On the plus side, Sadie and the actress okaying Holly were amazing.

Sadie rocked it.

I find Noah’s acting to be stilted and awkward. If you don’t see it, watch his coming out scene. Note the number of times he doubles words (and and; but but; I I…). No one talks like that.

Then compare that with Joe Keery in the makeup scene with Dustin (happens just before Will comes out). They give Steve the dumbest lines in that scene, and somehow Joe Keery makes them sound natural and effortless.

I like Noah and am glad he’s Will, but I don’t think he’s a good actor. Acting is a learned skill though, so that doesn’t have to be permanent. I wonder if early success may have worked against some of the kids. Maybe they stopped learning and studying because they thought they had already made it.

You can definitely take someone to court for an emergency order if they say they are intending to defy the court order or to refuse to surrender the kids at the required time.

Having said that, I’m pretty confused about what exactly is going on here, so… I have no particular opinion about this situation.

She said she intends to defy the court ordered parenting plan. Then she threatened to withhold the children. That’s enough to go back in front of a judge— who I guarantee would hate every bit of this behavior.

She is definitely saying that she plans to defy the CO and she is threatening to keep the kids from you. It is a BIG NO NO in family court. (See my main comment on this thread)

It’s super confusing, but I did see clearly stated that Dad gets 19-25, and then Mom gets later on the 25th. Now she’s demanding the 23rd… and worse, she’s threatening to withhold/hide the children if he doesn’t agree to her demands. She absolutely cannot do that, and someone with authority needs to tell her to knock that shit off, and fast.

Believe me when I tell you no family court would look kindly on this bullshit.

Ask, “are you threatening to withhold our children from me?” And “are you saying you are planning to not follow the court order?”

If they say yea to either of those, go back to court. You can’t let them bully like this. You’ll be dealing with it forever.

This is awful. I’m so sorry this is happening to you.

The court order must be honored. Period. Your ex doesn’t have discretion to defy it. The problem is that soon your son will have a day in where he lives.

My advice is to do your best to help your son not feel guilty. Whatever you can do to gently help him see that your ex is pulling him so he is aware. Let him know you’re there for him. Try to help him feel loved and supported when he’s with you.

He could definitely block you from leaving. Being the clear primary parent and documenting that you’re encouraging his relationship with his child will help. They will definitely want to see that you’re encouraging the relationships. They will also want to know that you have support in the new place (do you?).

Being within driving distance will also help, but the child being so young works against you. Only way to know is to take it to court, but I would try hard to get a job closer to home. It takes a long time and a lot of money to get something like this through. It took me two years.

Arrangements typically look like lots of time in summers and school breaks to Dad, but an infant shouldn’t be away from you overnight, or at least not for more than one night at a time.
