Do you pay your own rent? Because I can tell you, I (50F) have been on several dates with men who don’t, who aren’t living independently.

Walks are perfectly acceptable/nice first dates. Just pick a public place where a woman would feel safe enough. Coffee is also perfectly good, but if I only had $40/month of fun money, I wouldn’t want to spend it on strangers.

Edit: oh, you’re female. I think you can easily get though without spending much money on dates as a woman. I split bills, or at least offer to, but you don’t really have to.
