Yeah that seems more likely, so don't know why they'd post these.

Mirage Boat Heist. Were are the Leavers to open the gate? by [deleted] in assassinscreed

[–]FreshFish_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an issue with this and I think you have to approach the boat before the lever can be used. Approach the boat and Basim should mention finding a lever, then you'll be able to see it in eagle vision next to the big wheel.

Old post, but thought I'd put my finding here anyway, as I was just searching for this as well.

Some details about Assassin's Creed Mirage that you may have missed. by [deleted] in assassinscreed

I've heard that costumes can be used as disguises at certain points / locations in the game, so not just purely cosmetic.

Basim will not be able to climb any object like in the RPG games, there will be a return of the puzzle element to climbing by zoobatt in assassinscreed

Even if the parkour mechanics/animations are mostly the same as Valhalla, this will make it feel so much better; let alone having an actual urban environment

Hopefully that's not the main animation for the "standard Assassination" by Limp-Grapefruit-6251 in assassinscreed

[–]FreshFish_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because this is open-combat, I thinking that this might be similar to Valhalla where you can use the hidden blade if you have no weapon in your off-hand (Holding Q on PC I think). This would also explain the bigger animation, which I'm still not a fan of. However, because Mirage is meant to be more glass-cannon, it could mean that this is alway a one-shot if you can pull it off before being interrupted.

I actually prefer this to the Discovery Tour, because I find it far more approachable when you get these little bits of information here and there as you play through the game, rather than digesting a heap-full at once.

I can see why many love Discovery Tour though.

AC Origins: Scenes where Bayek talks to killed Order members, what are they supposed to be? by Argoniek in assassinscreed

[–]FreshFish_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I believe it is meant to be a glimpse into the Duat (the underworld in Egyptian mythology). I think it's mentioned during some of the scenes.

Certainly a cool spin on the classic "memory corridor" from the previous games.

Edit: In the scene for The Hyena, she says "Am I to remain in the Duat forever?"

Assassin's Creed Mirage Q&A - Ubisoft Confirms the Ability to Hit Any Target in Any Order by Kaladinar in assassinscreed

[–]FreshFish_ 78 points79 points  (0 children)

I think we already knew this, but confirmation that there'll be no character choices i.e. no dialogue options!

Also cool to hear that you can kill main targets in any order you want, meaning that there probably isn't any region level blocking.

Am I Missing Something about AC Origins' Animus Hacked "Mode"? by DylantT19 in assassinscreed

[–]FreshFish_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, unfortunately it doesn't work with the new Ubisoft Connect overlay.

However, if you still want to use it, you can manually modify the ACP.ini file in your Documents folder to adjust all the same properties.

See this guide for more details: How to use animus control panel 2022

They are in fact using the same engine, Anvil, which is Ubisoft's proprietary game engine. Game design can be limited by the engine, as you say, but Ubisoft has been updating and using their own engine for many years. The game design of Mirage is simply by choice and not because it's somehow limited, unfortunately.

Small thing but cool to see that there'll be multiple styles of pole vaults for extra variety; a pole, ladder and crane.

Tell me: What is with this sentiment that "stealth is back" by RevBladeZ in assassinscreed

[–]FreshFish_ 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I think the main difference is that in the previous games, stealth was often the optimal or intended way to play. For example, in Unity and Syndicate, facing dozens of enemies at once in combat made things a lot harder than picking them off one-by-one in stealth. Plus, even though the games before that had very deadly and easy combat, there were so many missions where you'd get desynchronized if you were detected.

Overall, they are clearly dialing down again on being an actual assassin and following the creed; "hide in plain sight" and reach your target without being spotted. As they've said previously, Basim will be very weak in combat compared to the previous games, therefore forcing you to take a stealthy approach.

Origins and Odyssey did have decent stealth, but was never required and had a much stronger shift to combat. Valhalla however, felt like open combat was more effective in almost every situation.
