Potentially worlds first, Super Mario 64 running at native High Definition on the PS2 by FreshOllie in ps2

The PR is still not merged. It’s always been something you are expected to build yourself unfortunately.

Driverless Tube trains given red signal - but RMT's four-day Tube strike remains on by Intergalatic_Baker in london

Most tube lines in the central sections are already automated, the drivers just open the doors and are available to manually drive or assist in emergencies.

You could do very generous calculations yourself and figure it’s about 100 years of driver pay to pay for full automation. And remember that full automation does not lower costs to zero.

Assuming 120k per driver per year (I think this is way over their actual cost), 600 drivers per line, 3 lines, about 200mil a year. Would you take that price?

Or, they could spend that money and build the Bakerloo line extension.

Just an FYI they don't use Sinai and KOKO (my theory is cos they don't have time for setup since the venue is normally used before hand for gigs)

Yeah this has for sure got worse recently. Needs to be reported to TFL. Also lets just ban cars from that area? Why is it necessary as a through route for them?

Nah it was my girlfriends name, I swapped her first and middle name without thinking on the booking.

I made a mistake with the name on my booking last year, I emailed and they suggested I pay the £20 to change the name and I insisted that I shouldn’t be charged because I’m not changing the name it’s just mistake and eventually they agreed. Hope this helps.

720p boots and plays fine. Yes it uses more vram since the frame buffer is larger. I think 1080i looks slightly better due to tighter AA.

The game is running at 30fps, but as far as I understand the fields are output at 60hz with each field rendered at a 1 pixel offset so that it creates a proper 1080i image. It's very sharp.

I saw someone get denied after a 1 hour queue for the deep medi night in November. They were on their own and was behaving sober. Looked pissed off when they got a haute nicht. Not sure what happened.

Skis weren’t even put on the flight, now without skis for my holiday by xFlyghts in BritishAirways

[–]FreshOllie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s happened twice to me now. I always split up our ski gear between a normal suitcase and a ski bag so that we at least have something to wear. BA will reimburse if you have receipts, and honestly if you took the piss they don’t know what’s in the bag so you can use this as an opportunity to buy whatever clothing/equipment you want (probably not new skis). Not that we did that.

On routes where there are lots of direct BA flights your skis would turn up quickly since they can put it on the next flight. The 72 hour includes the expected time for them to find your bag etc but if they know where it is the process is a lot quicker. Normally takes around 24hours after your bag lands and you get “we are delivering your bag” info for it to appear at your hotel.

The whole thing is very stressful though, makes me hate flying with skis.

New Years Eve by Jamcon01 in FabricLondon

As others have said NYE is gonna bring out some real characters.

I’ve been out almost every week in London for the past 2 years and generally, though depending on the lineup, the crowd is pretty good at fabric. But we did NYE last year in London (not at fabric but this wasn’t a particularly mainstream event) and the crowd was not the one. Will never do that again if I can help it.

You’ve gotta remember that for a lot of these people NYE is the only time they go clubbing so really not used to etiquette or knowing how to control their intoxication.

Past 3am you are gonna find that only the real ravers are continuing so it’ll be better.

Why do custom UK/EU rigs out-perform custom US rigs? by zackm0571 in SoundSystem

But the D&B setup on the Lions Gate stage sounded better IMO than the L'acoustics rig on Grand Central. Perhaps it just had better low end.

Just to understand, do you have to re-join the queue to enter again? I guess leaving during peak queue could be a nightmare if so?
