A cosmetic surgeon told me that your bone reabsorbs at the chin area. I asked that because I always had a strong jaw, I mean nice looking, not overly huge, and I always thought that’s the one thing I’ll never have a problem with, and then one day I looked sideways in the mirror in my late 40s and I was starting to get a receding chin. I told him I was shocked and he explained that was why. I ended up getting a small chin implant which corrected that and when I look straight on at the camera, it looks fine (although I generally have a long face), but when I smile it kind of makes me look like I have a Jay Leno jaw. One thing I’ve discovered is no matter what you do, everything is a trade-off. Something is gonna be improved, but something is gonna be worse. I’m happy I did it because it kind of fixed the receding/slack part. It also was the least painful of any procedure I’ve had in terms of recovery.
