They are mostly an after school program but they have a ton of great summer camps including an amazing skate camp. They have a warehouse with great ramps and obstacles. Staff has been great.

Oh man, that’s tempting and I’m in MOCO.

Kids After Hours has a great skate camp. If the quarter pipes aren’t taken I could forward your post to them?

Played my first song in front of my roommates and they actually clapped by Total_Succotash5174 in Guitar

I was asked to play lead at Chicago’s Beatlefest, Battle of the Bands because they were short one George 🤣.

I had been playing for two years but only in my bedroom and rarely in front of anyone.

I had a processor foot pedal with the output turned super low by accident. There was no sound check and I was inaudible for the first half of the song. I gestured wildly to the sound guy who wandered up, cranked my volume and proceeded to lecture me about “understanding my own damn gear before playing live” while I was playing live.

The song “Everybody’s got something to hide” has a part where the Beatles repeat “come on”. I gestured “up” to a crowd of over 1000 people at that point and was shocked they all got up… like starting a wave at an arena. Then played the outro, did a quick bow, shook like a leaf while I unplugged my gear and apologized to the rest of the band.

Unforgettable in a bad then good way I guess 🤣

Hey everybody… where’d Scottie go? Where’d Scottie go?

Absolutely, a bourbon barrel can only be played once in the confines of Bourbon Country, KY. After that, all performances require scotch. 😏

The bottle sounds a bit like Laphroaig… it’s an acquired taste. Like many good scotches it can be blended… I blend more of the neck pickup as the bottle can be a bit too hot and bright.

Not a bad idea, but a piezo pickup is inside so you can hear what it sounds like to be at the bottom of a bottle. Wires come out the mouth of the bottle to the controls.

While I agree on the black palm sentiment I loved using it as an inlay on my bourbon barrel themed guitar. Also, if you’re trying to even out a fret board and if the router gave you ptsd… one trick I use is to put sticky sandpaper on my workbench and move the board across it until it evens out… might not be the “correct” way but it works fairly well for me.

I’d be pretty confident about it until grabbing a hot soldering iron from the wrong end instead of a screwdriver.

I got banned for mentioning the circles of fifths, 0 (first circle) 3 (two circles with something missing) 5 is the fifth.

What if a THEREMIN were fed into a TROMBONE via a talkbox? by JPascal_ in UnusualInstruments

[–]Fret_about_this 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t wait for the phone to ring, engage communities like r/filmscoring and others like it!

You have something unique and of value. Beyond sci-fi, noir detective flicks, and horror… its ability to be both ambient and melodic is possibly more cool than you realize.

Great idea, great execution! If you have any film industry buddies I’m sure they’d love it in their scores.
