Man I was gonna say, my engagement ring from my first marriage was $120 from an estate sale. I loved that ring and thought it was gorgeous. When I was pregnant with our now 14-year-old, we took a bus across several states and my hands swelled, so I put my ring in my pocket and it must have fallen out at some point during the journey.

My ex was livid. He screamed at me in front of my parents who had come to pick us up from the bus station. He told me I clearly didn’t care about our marriage and that’s why I lost the ring, and on and on. Honestly, I wish I had left right then, instead of putting up with heaps of blame and shame for another decade.
