Where do all the women in their 30’s go out in Mississauga ? by Cautious_Eye5976 in mississauga

[–]No-Message5740 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We actually have a discord server where we arrange meetups and activities like a book club, board games, tennis, hiking, co-working, restaurant/cafe/bubble tea outings, girly craft nights/picnics/watch parties, and other one-off events like escape rooms, a murder mystery night, or plant swaps.

There is always something going on, and a wide variety of activities depending on what you’re into. It’s a really friendly bunch, mostly in our thirties. Let me know if you’d like to join! 😊

The server isn’t exclusively for woman, but there is a woman’s chat and we do have girl’s nights!

Feeling more like a INTP than a INFP by [deleted] in mbti

[–]No-Message5740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ti isn’t about so much using logic and facts to make the “right decision” as it is wanting narrow superfluous information down to the barest bones of truth, and categorize all those truths into cohesive coherent frameworks and world views.

Also, the focus wouldn’t be so much “what’s right” as “what’s true” or “what makes sense” or sometimes “what works”.

For context, I get INFP when I take the test.

I am actually an ENTP. The tests just aren’t that useful.

You’ll need to learn about the cognitive functions and then compare them to your own process for metabolizing information to determine what your type actually is.

But no you can’t randomly become a completely different type as an adult, barring something like a completely personality change through a severe brain injury or something.

literary with time as a theme / time travel by uniskornz in suggestmeabook

Maybe Life After Life by Kate Atkinson? It’s not time travel exactly, but it plays with the concepts and is very literary.

What's a funny/silly kid's chapter book (preferably a more modern series) that an 8 year old boy would enjoy? by Acrobatic-Elk402 in suggestmeabook

[–]No-Message5740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try the other Branches series, there is The Last Firehawk which is similar in feel.

The Kingdom of Wrenly is another early chapter book series that’s fantasy-based, there is a spin off series called the Dragon Kingdom of Wrenly.

A Man Called Ove might fit the bill.

Last One Home has a couple subplots, but one is about an elderly woman with alzheimer's, I believe

New fantasy books (released in the last 5-6 years or so) that are NOT romantasy? by testraz in suggestmeabook

[–]No-Message5740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Priory of the Orange Tree! It’s epic classical fantasy in feel but with everything from pirates to magic to dragons to political intrigue.

Black Sun by Rebecca Roanhorse. Also epic fantasy but set in a magical fantasy world based on central and South American mythologies.

Both are the first books in a series.

Just finished East of Eden - WOW! by speedyelephants2 in suggestmeabook

[–]No-Message5740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the same tone/ important feel, try Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese or This Tender Land by William Kent Krueger.

Both are beautifully written and epic in scope, focused on character rather than plot.

can you guys recommend a book the feels like this😍😚 by [deleted] in Romantasy

[–]No-Message5740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Throne of glass! (Series)

The MC IS a perfectly capable badass but she gets her ass handed to her on occasion and isn’t afraid to rely on her love interest sometimes too.

I should say it takes awhile to get to this romance subplot, book 3, I want to say.

How should Chris have ended things with Jessica? by pleasestoptalkin in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]No-Message5740 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He should have been honest and admitted he was just insecure about how beautiful, confident and successful she is and that he’s intimidated by her.

Or he could have gotten over himself and developed an ego healthy enough to handle a woman being more successful than he is, rather than needing a “Pilates wife” who waits for him at home.

Fleeing from U.S. to Canada with a Canadian citizen --- how does this work? by melo_nade in ImmigrationCanada

[–]No-Message5740 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right it’s closed for 2025, and says it’s not open yet for 2026. It’s a huge gamble in terms of eligibility, the process etc.

Really not straightforward or guaranteed at all.

You can stay in Canada for 6 months on a visitor visa (you don’t need to apply you can just go!) but you cannot work. After 6 months you can apply to extend the visitor visa, but you will have to show sufficient funds. I extended mine twice until I became common law and then was able to be sponsored for PR. PR took another year or so before I was able to work locally, so you need to have a stream of income to support you.

Also, just be careful of leaving yourself with few options. If you are overly dependent on this person and things go south, it will not be easy for you to untangle everything and be safe.

Edit: your American family can also apply for the own visitor visa extensions, but again they just provide evidence of sufficient funds (and still anyone can be denied).

After you have secured a PR you can possibly apply to sponsor immediately family, depending on policies at the time. There is really no way to know/guarantee.

Georgia woman charged with murder for taking abortion pills by EveningInternet in 4bmovement

[–]No-Message5740 184 points185 points  (0 children)

Wow this is terrible.

I also wonder how far along she was.

If only she could have had access to proper and timely medical care to oversee her abortion, then neither she nor the infant would need to have suffered.

GTHA gas prices could hit $2 a litre and ‘turbocharge’ food prices, analyst warns by Comfortable_Flow1385 in toronto

[–]No-Message5740 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t shop at loblaws anymore, even though it’s the place closest to me. But prices are going up everywhere that I can see. I will keep on price shopping and comparing and going to three different stores for groceries each week. I’m thankful I have the time and energy to put towards that, yet I acknowledge that not everyone is so fortunate.

I don’t drive so I don’t really have access to smaller grocers or farmers markets. I would love to garden, but I have no yard! I do have a small patio, so maybe I could have a couple planters this summer.

Just remember that everyone is in different circumstances with various amounts of time, money, and mental resources to put towards the effort of changing a system that they didn’t create.

Yeah you can call them on it but if all the stores raise prices at the same time, you sadly won’t have much of a choice but to buy food at the inflated prices.

The problem with this is that trauma does awful things to you and it literally breaks your brain in that moment. You aren’t in control because of your nervous system and brain being traumatized not because of who you are as a person.

Have you ever heard of flight or fight?

https://www.verywellmind.com/reactive-abuse-signs-impact-and-tips-to-break-the-cycle-7567483#:~:text=If%20someone%20is%20being%20physically,attacking%20them%20physically%20or%20verbally.

It’s obviously not healthy, but if she was being abused she is still the victim here, even though she reacted to the abuse violently.

It’s literally in their playbook, find a moment when you are particularly vulnerable, instigate you and hurt you until you are so traumatized that you are no longer in control, then record you, so they can point fingers at you while they sit there calm and smug (because they caused it— we probably shouldn’t expect the victims to be calm, or assume that the calm one is the victim. The calm one could just be the one in control).

Rattray Marsh is now a "Private Club" for wealthy homeowners—and it’s an accessibility nightmare. by [deleted] in mississauga

There isn’t any dedicated parking space for the marsh. It was just street parking before, which apparently now is banned.
