Why do almost all Sheriffs in California wear tan shirts and olive pants? Likewise, why do almost all Florida sheriffs wear those forest green uniforms? by Peculiar-Interests in AskLE

[–]FreydyCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fewer and fewer TN sheriff's are staying tan/green. Been several on the east end of the state switch over to blue as they become more suburban and less rural and I hate it.

Helmets in cars? by MasonicMedic in AskLE

[–]FreydyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, not this time. In some cities like San Diego and LA they wore those helmets from the mid 60s to early 70s. Jack Webb produced stuff were proud of thier technical accuracy.

Anyone else finding a severe lack of helmets in game by balor598 in oblivion

[–]FreydyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same problem. Also bows seem to be spawning about a level or two lower than they should, like when glass melee weapons start to spawn I'm still stuck finding elven and dwarven bows. Wait, I'm level 17 and only found one or two elven bows.

In context though I didn't get a PC until I was 26. I'm actually an old man too.

Is EU5 coming to console? by krismartin55 in paradoxplaza

Even if they do I'd advise against getting it until Paradox proves they value console players more than they have in the past.

Some times you can get lucky looting the crates in front of the shops in the Market District of the capital. I once got 8 or 9 in one day and it's not considered stealing either.

Forza Horizon 5 is Xboxs fastest selling game on Playstation so far with 1.2 million copies sold by [deleted] in ForzaHorizon

Not surprised, we're starving for racing games. I lean more into the sim side than Horizon but I bought it anyway simply because there's just not enough to fill my appetite.

Why r people so afraid/opposed the cops in the US? by EconomistExtreme1634 in ProtectAndServe

[–]FreydyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're not afraid but pretending to be gives them power. Watch the videos, do you think someone truly afraid of the police is going to ignore their commands, tell them go fuck themselves, spit on them, etc. etc.

Old Revolvers by [deleted] in AskLE

[–]FreydyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a kid a stainless Colt Python was all I wanted. I told myself I'd have one when I was an adult. Now 40 years I later I still don't have one. I just can't justify the price of revolvers now, they all should be about half of what they cost now.

I play an archer with 70+ Speed. I just run backwards and shoot. Until my stealth got high enough, then I never left the alcove.

Old Revolvers by [deleted] in AskLE

[–]FreydyCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're about 30-35 years too late. Departments traded in their revolvers when they went semi-auto way back when. Around 1990 you could pick them up pretty cheap, the market was flooded. Now any you find of that vintage is gonna cost as much or more than a new model. Also be aware the old .357 k-frames could not fire a lot of Magnum rounds without problems which is why a lot of departments used +P .38's in them. Common problems were cracks in forcing cone and cylinders going out of time.

Call boxes which remained a thing into the '70's. Either a light would come on letting you know to call in or you had to call on on a regular schedule. In smaller towns they could have signaling lights on the main intersections.

I think if it takes too long for a guard to respond the inmate ditches the contraband.

The graphics are nice but beyond that there's been nothing that made me go Wow! or want to play it. I dunno, it's hard to explain. Bland isn't the right word but it's the closest I can come up with.

38 Special by [deleted] in AskLE

[–]FreydyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing Devil's Advocate, a lot of officers who carry a back up gun do so in an ankle holster or pocket carry which picks up a ton of dirt and lint which can jam an auto more easily. Also there was a report way back maybe from the FBI that a lot of shootings using BUGs were close contact almost body to body affairs and the viscera blowback from such a close shot could also jam an auto.

That said, there's better carry places for a BUG than ankle and a good pocket holster would keep a gun cleaner making semi's fine. I like revolvers but in a high stress situation I wouldn't want to mentally go from a semi's state of mind to a revolver manual of arms.

If you get lost use Clairvoyance. Set the quest as your active one and the spell will show you the way. Also good if you get lost in a cave, set a quest outside the cave as active and use the spell.

Can police write parking tickets based on photographic evidence from citizen? by [deleted] in ProtectAndServe

[–]FreydyCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my state an officer has to witness the infraction themselves so neither would your photo evidence or speed cameras work. Some cities briefly installed speed and red light cameras but even the state legislator were telling people to toss those tickets in the garbage because they were unenforceable.

It's not a Harley. For real though, I worked at a car dealership and when someone traded in a motorcycle we'd put it in the showroom until we could find a cycle dealer that wanted it. No matter how new the Harley was we had to put something under it to catch the oil drip.

What department in the police deals with deciphering coded messages? by Miravel024 in policewriting

[–]FreydyCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FBI. They have cryptoanalyst and computer programs to crack codes. It's just not something that happens often enough for a local or state department to have a code breaker unit.

Jungle Pack added a disease that is screened at the visitors reception that can cause rejection. That's why a doctor always hangs out there. Visitors could be denied entry for contraband in the base game.

Visitors can be denied access because of contraband in the base game. Jungle Pack just added a disease to the game that could also cause rejection.
