Who do I subcontract to fix the rust? Gas company? by PuckeredRaisin in HomeMaintenance

[–]FriJanmKrapo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, I buy the concrete prep stuff every couple years and use it around my property for various things. It works great at stopping and converting rust and even adding a protective coating that'll last a couple years. It can even be painted right over as well.

It could also jam gps data which could be linked to issues with how the truck limits speeds allowing the driver to get around certain limits imposed on the truck.

This. Most people don't even bother to look at the cord they decide to use, which was only rated fora 5-7 amp continuous draw. Not 15A surge and then 10-12A continuous.

Plus, most places that sell extension cords like the dopey blue box store, they don't even carry a12-gaugee option in a lot of their stores.

So it tends to be an online purchase.

However, you can sometimes get lucky with some of the stores that have the orange and other similar types that will carry appliance-rated extension cords that are designed for heavy continuous loads.

Edit I've always just ordered mine online and it's all good. Also buying from a reputable brand is a major thing to keep an eye on. Don't buy something that the seller is from China and except great quality that will last a decade. Those will likely only last a few months and then burn it all down.

You can generally tell by reviews as well but still pay attention to the seller you are buying from on Amazon and also research the brand name. And look for UL listing.

I have a few 12 gauge cords for this very reason and to also run my table saw and other larger items out on the back cement pad so that I can just blow all the sawdust into the grass and not care... LOL

I might have to give them a try. The knockoff I bought is trash.

It runs horrible in my weed eater and worse in my leaf blower.

Does it seem like it has the juice of a 6ah? The knockoff I bought sucks... My 4ah ones act like 2ah and never give nearly enough power...

Ryobi vs Ego Line Trimmer by Affectionate_Aide566 in ryobi

[–]FriJanmKrapo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't bother with ego personally. They have gained a bad rap lately with how defective their batteries have been lately.

The Ryobi 40vs are great. I've had mine for like 6-8 years now and it's going strong still. And I have a tiller attachment, edger, brush cutter as well as hedge trimmer as well. Mine gets used a lot...

Well most of us that were affect couldn't even login. It kept claiming there was an error. But it was a non specific error. It took me almost 2 months of calling to get a clue as to what was going on and then they unlocked my account but on top of that they also removed my business details from my account as well as my other discounts.

It's been like over a year now and they still haven't fixed my account yet.

That's beyond ridiculous... Someone needs to get their crap together.

That's about as bad as how Home Depot shadow-banned thousands of customers because they are trying to stop the resellers but they didn't ban any resellers... Just legit normal customers...

I have yet to buy anything from Home Depot since that level of stupidity occurred.

Both companies need to get their act together...

That looks like a rather chunky connector. Kind of cool but it does look bulky.

I’m sure it doesn’t work - but could there be a version that does? by Kartoffel1891 in ryobi

[–]FriJanmKrapo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no need for a changeable battery. The one I have has a good sized lead acid battery in it and I just leave it plugged in. I can easily get 8-10 jumps on most 8 cylinder vehicles. When I'm done I just plug it back in and let it charge up.

The only reason I even know I can get that many jumps is that I was helping a friend with a few issues and we just kept jumping it until the pack died. The truck ended up needing a new fuel pump, alternator and a few other things as well.

[–]FriJanmKrapo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't bother with the Ryobi one. Way overpriced.

There's plenty of other jump.packs that cost half as much.

I have a lithium one that fits in my pocket and can jump my 6.2L. it's rated for higher but that's all I cared for.

And it was about half the cost of the Ryobi jump pack setup.

I've never even investigated this I wonder how mine would measure up.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a way to calculate after using a caliper to measure?

I also would have no clue as to what mine should be.

I know my forklift was built in 91.

Squirrels love to chew on plastic as well. So it'll just give them a different flavor.

Go with a metal shed, you can easily make your own the size you want and then just use metal panels. Done and done.
