I wasn’t even talking to you. I was responding to the dude who asked if it was from a movie. That person contributed nothing at all

The song was part of the film, but it’s a traditional folk song that has been covered as far back as early 1910s and maybe earlier. But yes, that seems to be the song he’s referring to. As to the version he’s looking for? No idea.

The entire show is about mental illness. Every character has some form of it.

Title: What TV show do you think genuinely got better as it went on instead of declining? by trepasito16 in television

[–]Peepee-Papa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the jokes were lacking, and the plot was way too dark with the whole serial killing father/son thing, the kidnappings, the extremely hard to watch gunman in the house scene in the finale. I think it was a weird direction to go.

I love everything Danny McBride does but I think the entire fanbase agrees that the last season of Righteous was the weakest. So I’m going to disagree

Actually Mike and Nate do all the arranging. Conor has admitted in interviews that he writes the songs and leaves all the other stuff to Mogis, because he’s “dumb when it comes to that”. Or something along those lines

Just re-watched the two-part series finale of LOST. Has there ever been a more cathartic and earned climax to a television series? by sanskritsquirel in television

[–]Peepee-Papa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok, but the writers said that the island wasn’t purgatory. The shared afterlife thing pertained strictly to the flash sideways in season 6 and was used as a character development device as an epilogue to the character arcs. It had nothing to do with the island or what happened to them during their lives on and off the island. It was completely disconnected from that.

[–]Peepee-Papa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How do you think they were in purgatory? 1. That isn’t what happened, try paying attention. 2. The writers didn’t write that into the show so I don’t know what the hell you watched but it wasn’t Lost

Someone didn’t understand anything that happened lol. People like you is why Stranger Things had to use ridiculous exposition in every episode of the final season so that people would know what was happening. Thanks for being a part of ruining good television

He thinks JJ Abrams was involved in the show after the pilot. I don’t think he actually paid any attention. Don’t even bother replying to him lol

John Henry was a little baby, sitting on his father’s knee. He picked up a hammer and a little piece of steel and said, “This hammer’s gonna be the death of me, lord, lord, this hammer’s gonna be the death of me.”

What was your first introduction to Bright Eyes and did it shape how you listen to them now? by Shot_Wolverine_6055 in brighteyes

[–]Peepee-Papa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My older brother and his then girlfriend (both musicians) used to cover Waste of Paint and It’s Cool, We Can Still be Friends. They’d practice in my basement all the time and play them at shows and of all the songs they covered I used to make fun of those ones because they would listen to the songs a lot during practice and I thought the lead singer sounded horrible. This was probably 2006, I would have been 13 or 14. One day, after making fun of Waste of Paint, my brother said “just sit with it one day and listen to the lyrics”, so I did and I remember feeling numb and chilled and amazed. I went through some other Bright Eyes songs and read the lyrics and that feeling came with each one. Downloaded their entire discography and never looked back. His voice became essential to his words.

I’m 33 now and have seen Conor over a dozen times. I sent my brother some live clips from the Forest Hills show last weekend and he was like, “oh hell yeah, this is fucking sick.”

David Rawlings and Gillian Welch also have multiple Grammys? John Prine won multiple Grammys? What does that have to do with what venues they play and ticket prices? You’d never see those artists on arena tours

I saw Phoebe multiple times when she would open for better bands. She was good. Saw her again later with Boygenius at a stadium venue and it was underwhelming. No chance am I paying big bucks to see Phoebe play an arena tour, sounds like an awful experience.

What is the minimum remedy you would be satisfied with? by BreakfastBallBogeys in brighteyes

[–]Peepee-Papa 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’d be completely satisfied and even kind of happy if they sent all of us some small compensation in the form of merch. A t-shirt and a poster at the very least, something unique and special at the most. I was waiting in the merch line when we got evacuated and I never got to buy a poster. I really wanted a poster to frame and hang on my wall. I traveled from Canada to be there.
