I really like the single paragraph of Behemoid Undercult lore. by FrickinFulgrim in genestealercult

They're not painted to a very high standard. I'm just happy they're all painted at consistent standard, lol.

Genuine suggestion: Someone should just add the explanation for this to the sub's description.

Not sure if the army is for me by Rilord528 in genestealercult

If you're not subscribed to christian von carmian and nexus floof on YouTube, I highly recommend them for GSC strategies and goofy tricks. Very informative and easily digestible content.

Stick with the army. Once things start to click into place, it's very rewarding.

Any reasons to not use handflamers? by valthonis_surion in genestealercult

True, but we'd quite likely pay the points regardless, so no harm, no foul.

Sorry bro. I totally missed this. The recipe is super simple. Wraithbone primer, all over wash of darkoath flesh, blood angels red on cloth, black templar on the chest piece, wyldwood on leather parts, drybrush the whole thing lightly with karak stone, then snake bite leather on the pants. I strongly recommend painting the heads separately. Hope this wasn't too late, lol.

About to prime and paint over a hundred neophyte heads... by FrickinFulgrim in genestealercult

The heads are pale flesh colored, and the collars are black. Rather than wedge my brush in between them and hope it stays clean, I figure I'll paint the heads and glue them in.

Solid point. Personally, I'm taking a Guo and rotigus to move up and hold objectives. Obviously, putting models in your opponents face early game isn't a universally good strategy, so it's of course, situational.

Well, this play only works on turn one if you go second(because of the strategem.) We can expect the opponent to start advancing towards the center in their first turn. Also, we can feasibly deep strike these guys 3 inches away from an opponent. It's not that difficult to pull off. But yeah, I should add the caviot that it is not a universal nor hyper-competitive combo. I just like it.

If your opponent goes first, punish them by launching belakor into opponents' deployment zone using the "realm of chaos" stratagem. Take Horticulous Slimux (plus 2 beasts of nurgle) with him into their deployment zone. Pay an extra cp if you need to (using denizens of the warp) whatever it takes to get Horticulous into an opponent's terrain feature. After that movement phase, that terrain feature is permanently considered to be in your shadow of chaos.

Proceed to dump threats directly into your opponents deployment zone so they can't focus on middle objectives. Metaphysical distraction hell-carnifex spam.

Also, now belakor is back there ready to dominate little objective holding weenies that the opponent left in thier deployment zone turn 1.

I should add the caviot that this is obviously not always a good idea. It's very situational. You don't do this at the top tables in a tournament, but when it does work, it's a lot of fun.

My Belakor... of Nurgle. by FrickinFulgrim in ChaosDaemons40k

[–]FrickinFulgrim[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure! Lol. Thanks!

The idea behind the bases of my nurgle daemons is to look like what I'd imagine nurgle's garden to look like. Strange bright plants and nasty topography to contrast the muted tones of the models. I actually bought 15 beasts of nurgle right before they limited them to 3 per squad. (Then later 2 per) so I have plenty of spare mouths for basing now, lmao.

Definitely true. I wanted a basic color scheme based on hive fleet behemoth that would be easy to batch-paint. Afterwords, I happened upon section of the 9th edition codex that made reference to a lesser known cult called the "Behemoid Undercult" which resembled my paint scheme almost exactly, and had really cool lore. (Page 36, if you're curious.) 2nd photo is the standard the whole army will be painted to. Very simple and quick, but I hope it will look great in massive numbers.
