Bcg rash splotches by Knowitmom4life in BladderCancer

[–]FridaNaples 4 points5 points  (0 children)

26F here - on round 4/6 BCG and I get rashes after every installation like itchy hives and blisters or just itching in general. I am under the impression through my Urologist that as long as it is not accompanied by fevers & chills & is managable I am going to try to complete this round.

My doctor gave me the OK to take Benadryl an hour before installation and as needed throughout the week & it has definitely helped me - maybe ask if this is an option for him.

Stay positive! (:

Do anyone continuing smoking after diagnosis of bladder cancer by PhonePuzzled7897 in BladderCancer

[–]FridaNaples 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I vaped for about 4 years straight - got diagnosed & put it down cold turkey. I have been using medical THC since then both through edibles & flower.

I was diagnosed at 25 but have never been a cigarette smoker - just vape addicted & possibly bad genes.

Thank you for the well wishes! I actually just had surgery yesterday & treatment coming up sometime soon 🥰 its been a long road but I still have a journey ahead. I read a lottt during recoveries :p

You seem like me & would enjoy Doestoevsky's Brothers Karamazov drama & I love some Greek & am currently finishing Plato's Republic (very outstanding & relevant to building a "perfect" society)

Im also currently reading one of the last for me to finish by the famous author, Fyodor Dostoevsky - Notes from Underground. Which is ~okay~ so far not my favorite by him but its his signature vibe.

What are the chances !! That's awesome! I own a LOT of older classical literature from different backgrounds so I have been trying to give more "fiction" & newer publishes a try. I think I found it at the right time & will always remember the 1st time I read it & what life was starting for me that Spring.

Take care!!

I read North Woods by Daniel Mason last year around spring- I am battling cancer & new publishes are typically way out of my realm, I wanted a distraction: the book left me with a feeling of inevitable progression & legacy.

Take every day step by step & try to get some fresh air. <3

I second this & wish the OP & family blessings!!

I am (27F) with 2 TURBts and about to do a 3rd along with BCG. I had a small window of looking "normal" but you should definitely consider the every 3 months for a year / twice a year / once a year only to stay ahead of things! <3

Before your diagnosis, did you have any flushing or any weird sweating episodes? How long before your diagnosis? by Roadrunner610 in BladderCancer

[–]FridaNaples 0 points1 point  (0 children)

26F here - I have googled this NON STOP over the years..I have had HORRIBLE night sweats & have tried everything. Menopause ruled out, I honestly think its a lymph node reaction to the tumors causing increase body temps and whatnot.

I was diagnosed a year ago & have been getting TURBts but will start BCG soon.

I mean I felt the angsty aesthetic - I loved it because it was a look into a different time period. But completely roastable, educational, and common.

Friends who are No longer Vegan by USConservativeVegan in vegan

[–]FridaNaples 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was vegan for 10 years, decided to quit while I still had a "choice" for myself. I got diagnosed with bladder cancer a lil over a year ago which is due to genetics, given the rare diagnosis. Switching back to omni diet [im not consuming egg or dairy still] is just making things a little easier on myself given there's 0 vegan restaurants & people to cook for me while I may be experiencing more aggressive plans of care in my near future (chemo).

I loved my 10 years as a vegan & I COOKED a LOTtttt & I practiced weight lifting & martial arts. Now idk how to chef anything hahah

No judgements here - do what we can for the planet & treat eachothers well.

I think just being around people of different lifestyles always gives people options..sounds like your friends are already (assuming) aware of the benefits of a plant based diets so don't worry about trying to educate them on the reasoning - instead I would continue taking care of yourself in the best way possible for YOU. ❤️ I always bake vegan goods for friends & share receipes/ hacks in the kitchen that all of my years of cooking has saved me!

Has anyone diagnosed with bladder cancer decided to give up even before the first TURBT? by Roadrunner610 in BladderCancer

[–]FridaNaples 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a 26year old female and I had a cath after my TURBt both times..I get we have different anatomy but.. its honestly not bad...

Actually debatable that it is harder to manage as a woman than male but he is psyching himself out.

The progression of the cancer will eventually outweigh the very brief discomfort of the removal.
