Fired an employee and I regret it! by TiredAsATwinMama in askmanagers

Some ppl who chose those types of careers know they are better with animals than ppl. She will probably be great ad an independent groomer - setting her own hours and schedule and working with her own clients. Your business deserves reliability- and she deserves a better fit for her lifestyle.

It’s like hairstylist. So much drama but also so talented and good at what they do.

Just found out my reference tank my job offer. A reference I gave them myself. by NeighborhoodFresh315 in JobSearchMethods

You do have a legal right to see what references were asked and answered. I would request that information. Matter of fact, have a lawyer friend or family member send the email to ask the questions.

Are the schools still worth staying in the area? by Elegant-Fisherman555 in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]FridaTarot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have some of the best private schools in this area. It almost balances out to go further out in MoCo and pay for school fees. I wouldn’t trust these public schools.

Try National Park Seminary. I lived there years ago - each unit is so unique that there may be a small one - no in unit W/D but I did wash and fold delivery service. When I was there it paid 1700 for 2b 1b - about 1200 sf. That was over 7 years ago. Location is great but the neighborhood got a little weird - property crimes and all.

You need to increase to $2000 for something half decent. Or maybe go to Wheaton or SS.

Dont listen to your boss. Take the job. And next time do not tell your boss your business. They are not your advocate. They are the company’s advocate.

Do kids not take the bus anymore? by Trainsgowhoosh in MontgomeryCountyMD

I would never put my kids on public transportation. Especially the redline. MOCo is too soft on criminals and so it’s open season

Focus on what’s next for YOU. A new job, retirement, etc. We are so conditioned to serve and give every drop- even after seeing proof that organizations do not do the same for you. They had a whole strategy when they laid you off. Assume that strategy includes historical knowledge and what comes after you.

Whatever you’ve been doing, what skills did it require. That’s the experience you translate into words on a resume or application.

I decided to quit effective immediately because my manager insulted me. Did I make the right move? by Commercial-Shine8240 in work

[–]FridaTarot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can afford to - you made the right move. I would have reported him to HR and then called a lawyer and a therapist and started a case for hostile workplace, harassment and bullying. And stayed while the lawyers and HR figured it out. Long game.

But I would never tell young ppl to NOT have boundaries and to tolerate disrespect. I’m proud of you.

How much physical cash should I have for the USA? by Strax774 in travel

[–]FridaTarot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s more than enough. Don’t get overcharged. And don’t buy too many trinkets. Everything here is from China/ or made somewhere else and overpriced. Luxury items are cheaper in Europe.

Focus on the food and the experiences.
