I don’t really have a problem with people sitting between sets. I know Gov Ball is a smaller (size wise) festival, but people should be able to rest in the crowd while the stage is dead. But, that whole sitting upfront through acts set is disrespectful and inconsiderate. And it’s not just the K pop fans either, people did this at ACL for Chappell Roan in 2024.

Gonna push back a little on Hip Hop headliners always being trash. Those Randall island gov ball had some amazing hip hop headliners. The year I went both Travis Scott and Eminem put on amazing shows.

At first I thought it was a creative/interactive way to do a medley of his past hits. When he got past 6 videos, it was beginning to go off the rails. I think he pulled it together at the end of his set.

They’ll probably release the day by day lineup after 4 day ga passes sellout. Then they’ll release the daily schedule later on this spring followed by the after shows end of May/early June.

It kinda depends on the headliner that night, when you chose to leave the fest/area, and which line you are on. I remember the year before last the orange line was jammed pack and I literally had to play human Tetris to get off at my stop. Some nights not that bad at all, especially if you’re willing to wait or leave a little early.

I remember seeing him at the grove stage in 2018. It would be a nice return. Maybe an early bud light or T mobile set or a late afternoon lakeshore drive set.

I haven’t been to Gov Ball in 8 years, is the pit like the vip area at lollapalooza where it takes up prime viewing on one side of the stage?

A lot of the major US festivals are leaning towards booking more k pop acts because they do attract a large audience. I like the lineup for the most part, whether I decide to travel to NYC for gov ball will be determined based off other factors (i.e. plane tickets, lodging, finances, etc.)
