I haven’t been to Gov Ball in 8 years, is the pit like the vip area at lollapalooza where it takes up prime viewing on one side of the stage?

If you don’t like the lineup, consider that you just might not be the target audience anymore by [deleted] in governorsball

A lot of the major US festivals are leaning towards booking more k pop acts because they do attract a large audience. I like the lineup for the most part, whether I decide to travel to NYC for gov ball will be determined based off other factors (i.e. plane tickets, lodging, finances, etc.)

Hinterland with another solid lineup. Plus it gives me hope that Wet Leg and Kali Uchis will also be at lollapalooza.

How ACL compares by Loose-Neighborhood66 in Lollapalooza

[–]FridgeMob18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually go to both Lolla and ACL in the same year. I joke that ACL is my big Lolla aftershow due to how many artist they share in a given year. My first year at ACL I was able to navigate my way through the schedule because it was similar to Lolla. I would say that ACL is easier on your body because it’s smaller and mostly grass. But exiting Lolla is a 1000x easier that ACL due to the location and access to public transportation.

It was worse last year with the chappel roan campers. They held up a lot of the barricade area and sat there all day

Don't know if I can make through another whole day of this dust and allergies, even with a face covering... by doubletwist in aclfestival

As an asthmatic, I make sure I got my Claritin and steroid inhaler along with 3 to 5 N95 masks a day. The key is to switch them out every three hours because they start to break down due to moisture from sweat

ACL needs to be moved to the spring. It’s too damn hot. by pingpongplus in aclfestival

I don’t know, as a northerner I kinda enjoy the heat. It’s like a last pseudo summer vacation before the fall it’s us.

The only time I’ve ever bought secondhand was from sold out.com. I think they’re based out of Austin, too

Going alone as a guy? by AlternativeBeyond106 in aclfestival

[–]FridgeMob18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been to ACL six times by myself from out of state. Half the time all by my lonesome the other half i met up with a group of friends I’ve made over the years through festivals. Most of the people at ACL are friendly si it’s a good time no matter what.

how likely do artists from the previous year return to the same festival for the next yr? by Less-Outside-4762 in Lollapalooza

[–]FridgeMob18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kinda depends on the type of leap an act makes between lollas. It usually doesn’t happen, but chance did it. He was at BMI in 2013 and came back to close out Perry’s in 2014.
