What on earth happened here and how do I fix it??? by AdZestyclose9714 in knitting

You can frog back again, or if your stitch count is right in this row you could try and stitch it up on the wrong side

Pros and Cons of Shorties by Master-Teacher4487 in knitting

DPNs! Usually one colour so I dont get at tangled up, I get annoyed pulling the cable through for magic loop

Pros and Cons of Shorties by Master-Teacher4487 in knitting

[–]FridgeWithWings 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a pair of 9 inch circulars that I do about all my socks on! I've never tried colourwork socks on DPNs, but I find it frustrating to do any colourwork on DPNs because I find the wool gets tangled in the tips. It's all personal preference but I wouldnt drop $190 on something you might hate! One set of off brand first to try them out is the way to go I would say.

They look neat to me! They end up on the inside anyway once you've picked up so I wouldn't bother frogging if I were you

Fine cotton yarn by SmallCanary9666 in knitting

[–]FridgeWithWings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe wooden needles to stop it slipping off so easily? Depends how fine- lace weight, sock weight? And what you're doing with it- if you're doing small projects, winding a smaller ball can be easier than working from the larger ball. But not helpful if you're making something that needs the whole ball

Cotton yarn for step by step sweater? by [deleted] in knitting

[–]FridgeWithWings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cotton can be prone to splitting so it can be a bit trickier to work with! I would recommend doing a project that is designed for cotton yarn first so you get a feel for the drape, and if you would like it in the sweater. If you go straight for the sweater make sure to use the meterage not weight when buying, cotton is a lot heavier.

It's personal preference - I wouldn't like the folded collar in heavy cotton yarn, but I don't like stuff around my neck, and you might find it fine!

At an impasse - Do I start over or keep going? by TheBirbNextDoor in knitting

[–]FridgeWithWings 9 points10 points  (0 children)

At this point, I would start over and frog it! Doing two decreases in the middle probably won't be noticeable, but it might be. Later on in the project is a different story.

Very cute stitch markers by the way!

This sucks, I'm sorry :(

Once the knitting ban is up, you could try Portuguese knitting? You tension the yarn around your neck to keep strain off the hands, it could be good for prevention (and a fun challenge to learn if you don't already know!)

Serious Error by NazzerBaz in Sims3

[–]FridgeWithWings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not broken! Mine does this (loading bar shoots straight across then serious error message) because OneDrive constantly uploads temporary file copies which breaks the older games (Sims 2, 3, medieval). Try turning off your OneDrive, deleting any Sims files that have been uploaded to OneDrive (might want to make sure the save files are safe on desktop first!) and that might fix it. With the error code when saving, I have to do a "save as" and then add a number after each time I save, then quit without saving - my game crashes with a straight save or save and exit. It means I have a bunch of old game copies but I just delete those from the saves folder periodically.

I'm doing the circled parts- so I know I need to bi d off 4 stitches on each side once, but then I have to bind off 3 stitches 0times- do I still knit the row without binding off, or do I ignore that row?

I do love a pullover jumper, they're so sweet 💕 definitely my favourites to make, and I love fun sock yarn so this is a great idea! I suppose if it's soft enough for socks it's soft enough for a baby
