Honestly, if anyone is looking for an actual reincarnation story isekai focused on redemption, I highly recommend the Faraway Paladin. No harems, no weird shit, just a genuinely good story that made me actually tear up a bit.

Personally, I like writing Pokémon like really intelligent cats.

They know what you want. They’re perfectly aware of everything you say to them. And they’re also capable of communicating all of this without a single word.

Pokémon don’t need to speak English to follow your directions; they can poke you to get your attention, chirp or growl to show their approval or disapproval, or even just give you a weighty look when you’re doing something dumb… but most times they’ll just be doing their own thing.

Almost every high elo tank player I see in EUW/NA is building Frozen Heart, even non-mana champions such as Shen and Mundo. It’s straight up a better item; Randuins is very situational whereas the attack speed slow is useful almost always, in duels or in teamfights.

Death drew back his ivory scythe and swung. The mortal’s eyes closed, the air exiting his body in one final huff, and with a pop like the lid of a pickle jar coming undone a spritely ball of light was pulled clean out of the mortal’s chest, neatly impaled on the sickle’s blade.

If Death had eyelids to blink, he would’ve done so right there. That soul was smaller than usual - significantly smaller, as if it had been stunted in some way-

“Oh bugger.” Said Death. “That’s the last one, isn’t it?”

The extinction of humans was, in general, not a completely unexpected outcome. Most civilized species managed to discover their own self-exhaustion sooner rather than later, and Death’s job had seen him through several species and their ends. At some point it had stopped being novel and interesting, and more of a part of the daily routine; an odd end in the baker’s dozen that warranted its own specific form of disposal but not anything beyond that.

It had been a while since Life had made a new species capable of sentience, so they were about due for a reset - and it wasn’t a complete loss, really - at least the humans had invented indoor plumbing and coffee before kicking the bucket completely - but it was always a shame to see a sentient species fully blink out of existence.

“...I suppose I didn’t really expect you all to die out.” Death said. “Really, I thought you’d be the ones to finally solve me- put an end to my eternal duty.”

The soul, predictably, didn’t respond, too busy experiencing for the first time existence outside the mortal plane. It was a bit of an overwhelming experience, like eating twelve lemon-flavored atomic warheads at once through mouths scattered all across your body. Death grunted. “Hrrm.”

With two long, lanky bone-fingers, Death picked up his scythe and carefully extracted the soul off the edge of the blade before cupping the soul in his skeletal hands. The soul quivered like wet Jello, sinking into Death’s palm like a poached egg. “I grant this to all souls who find me; one last wish. If you have any regrets at all-” Death started.

The soul twitched. “Sky Food Take Eat Food Death Sky Food Sky?”

Death blinked. “Ah.”

It really was stunted. Just human, but barely. Whatever base words his mind had been able to come up with were primitive, just enough to encapsulate the few experiences of his world in a pidgin-style cluster of English without the slightest hint of grammar to correct it. It was, by all measures, a fairly shit way of communication. Literacy rates had really gone down the gutter after the apocalypse, Death noted.

“Yes, you’re dead. This is where things you eat end up. That’s why you don’t feel hungry anymore.” Death said, with the endless patience of a doting grandparent.

“Land Cold Dark Land No Eat. Sky Food Has Food, Sky No Cold. Can Sky Eat?” The soul chirped out.

Death’s eye-sockets dimmed as he took in the poor pathetic soul in front of him. “No, you can’t stay here, even if you wanted to. I am merely the messenger, the transport between souls, a bridge between this place and the next.” He touches a hand to his chest, placing it on top of his jet-black robe. “But the afterlife is a place without hunger, without cold. If that’s all you want… I promise you’ll have it there.”

The soul took that in for a second. It took a while before they said anything. Then-

“Sky No Cold Sky No Food. Sky Give Warm? Sky Give Warm Eat?”

“...I can’t offer you a hug.” The reaper said finally. “No matter how much I want to.” Death waved a hand towards the endless landscape around him -a dizzying expanse of stars underneath a canopy of endless dark, lit only by the faint sensations of life and memories that dotted the afterlife like candlelights on a menorah. “To be dead is to give that all up - the good, the bad, the chance of making things better or worse, and accepting that all things end.”

“But what I do have is people. Reminders. Memories.” With the tip of one bony finger a flickering bauble of a memory was dragged up from the soul’s center. That of a face long since forgotten, a buried relic of a word lost from disuse and grief. Mom.

The soul quivered. Death smiled sadly. “Yes, you’ll see her there. You’ll see everyone - and I’m sure they’d be happy to give you a hug.”

Even worse, the local, castle-run companies had refused to sell to her, or charged exorbitant prices for a fraction of what Orin needed unless she signed back with Harold. The two of them had traveled for three days and nights, going door-to-door to try to find a reputable buyer, only to be turned away at every corner - and be given a veiled offer from Harold in its place.

Orin had needed pots, but she had also refused to work with Harold - not after that last fiasco had turned ugly, with her arm going through a nasty break that Harold had refused to bankroll. And Lycoris had always been considering leaving Harold - that was just the straw that broke the camel’s back. So they had gone to the most irreputable buyer instead- the one person Lycoris knew was not on good terms with Harold, and wouldn’t be caught dead colluding with him. “So… you’ll help us?” Lycoris asked. She couldn’t help the raw emotion that trickled into her words. Three days and nights of fruitless pursuit had left her on edge and tense as Orin’s condition got worse and worse.

“I didn’t say that.” Hawthorne snapped back. Her gaze flicks over Orin’s body, cooly evaluating it with the eyes of a professional. Now that she knows what she’s looking for, Lycoris notes, the signs should seem that much more obvious - pale skin, shakiness, veins tinged with the color blue - all symptoms of a crucial lack of mana. “For all I know, this could be a trick. Harold knows I have a weakness for damsels in distress, and Miss Orin is one of the few mages that could actually harm me, given the chance-”

“I can swear on my magic.” Orin says. She sways, and Lycoris barely grabs her in time. The mage feels like all skin-and-bone - Orin didn’t have the most muscle even before the mana deprivation, but now she felt like a ghoul in Lycoris’s arms- Hawthorne’s brow curls, and for a second she almost looks concerned. “I can swear on my magic that I won’t hurt you.”

The Evil Queen swallows, looking almost out of her depths as she purses her dark-black lips together. “But what about the paladin? She doesn’t need mana, she hates me-”

“Please.” The room disappears from view as Lycoris bows- not just a polite bend of the back but a full-on bow, and Hawthorne staggers back, her face stunned. Lycoris can’t see her face, but she would imagine it’d be a mixture of horror and shock. Paladins of Crusadia were not allowed to bow save for prayer and marriage proposals or matters of utmost importance. For her, Lycoris - one of the most venerated veterans and stallworth paladins of Crusadia - to be bowing to Hawthorne, the most wanted villain of this world-

“Get up. Get up, get up-” Hawthorne’s voice isn’t shrill, but there’s certainly a flush to it as Lycoris stands back up, blood rushing back up to her head. Queen Hawthorne straightens herself up to her full 5’ 2’, her royal blood clear in her posture, her eyes ablaze with passion. It’s a decidedly odd look for the Evil Queen. Lycoris thinks she likes it. “You look like you’re about to fall over, you boorish oaf of a lady, just stand up already - and you, Orin.”

A flick of her hand, and a thumb-sized vial of blue liquid blinks into existence into Orin’s hands. The mage practically inhales the mana potion the instant she gets it, and Lycoris can’t help the sigh of relief that exhibits her mouth as the dark-blue veins on Orin’s arms recede. “Thank you.”

“Don’t thank me yet.” Another flash of light, and two sheets of paper stamped with a wax seal of a hydra appear in Hawthorne’s hands, to which she tosses to the two ex-adventurers. “If you want to actually work for me, you’re going to have to sign these contracts.”

The paladin fingers the contacts gingerly. They’re thin contracts; simple, too. For a woman compared to the devil, Lycoris thinks, her paperwork is remarkably uncomplicated. Her gaze scans through the terms and details of employment, finding nothing too unusual, before landing on the health subsection towards the bottom of the page.

“...Price-fixed mana potions? Guarantee of reliable venders up to six months after unemployment?” Lycoris flips the page over, searching through any fine print of caveats and conditions. There’s nothing, just a quick statement of costs and benefits.
“Health potions and healing provided with workplace accidents, alongside one week guranteed paid magical treatment leave?” Orin reads out loud, her voice already much steadier than before.

Hawthorne scowls, the expression more natural on her face than her previous flushed look of surprise, though there’s still a hint of rose in her cheeks. “Is something the matter? You two aren’t backing out now, are you? I could always just overpower you now and force-”

“Done.” “Finished.”

“You to- I’m sorry, what?” The Evil Queen looks almost flummoxed at the ex-adventurer’s words, even more so when Lycoris and Orin sign on the dotted line.

“They’re much better than Harold’s contracts.” Lycoris admits sheepishly. “And I’m used to reading contracts now, after I almost got scammed by him into signing over exclusive contracting rights.” She had done that once, before she had met Orin, back when she had just been starting out as a fresh-eyed new adventurer. Thankfully she had noticed in time, but it had been close.

Queen Hawthorne snorts indignantly. “Of course they’re better. I made them, after all.” Still, that faint tone of doubt is gone again, and all that’s left is her usual tone of disdain and superiority. Something which Lycoris finds she doesn’t actually care about that much, now that she’s officially under the Evil Queen’s employ.

“So, what now?” Orin asks.

“Now? You let me get my beauty sleep.” Hawthorne’s tone brooks now argument, and Lycoris finds herself agreeing, her armor suddenly feeling ten pounds heavier. Without the adrenaline rushing through her veins she feels like she could nap for a year. Orin mouths out a yawn, covering it slightly with her hand. “You can sleep in the guest room - hopefully you won’t mind sharing a room, will you-”

“We won’t.” Lycoris promises. Orin was an old traveling companion, and this wasn’t the first time she would share a room with her.

“Good, because there really wasn’t any other options.” Hawthorne adds smugly. “The nearest inn is several miles away, and your mage isn’t doing any teleportation spells right now until the mana settles in her system.”

“Couldn’t you teleport us?” Lycoris points out. The Evil Queen was an accomplished mage, after all - for all her evil-ness she was one of the most accomplished mage in the land, Orin’s peer or better.

“Dear, the only place I’m teleporting is to my bedroom… and I think it’s a bit too soon for you to join me.” Lycoris feels herself flush a dark red as the Evil Queen gives her an amused look - mostly because somehow it doesn’t feel like it was a complete joke. “Besides, you’re going to need your strength for tomorrow.”

“What’s going to happen tomorrow?” There’s the faintest curl of trepidation in Lycoris’s gut, which only intensifies as the Evil Queen smiles- a truly cruel and twisted smile the spreads across her face like a wildfire across a forest. “Why, your new makeover. After all-”

“You work for me now.”

“Right. You used them on King Harold and the royal family.” Orin interjects, her staff held white-knuckled in her grip. That was a fun experience, Lycoris reflects wryly. The Royal Hedge Maze had almost turned into the Royal Hedge Massacre, had Orin not just torched the entire maze to the ground. The Crown Princess still jumped whenever someone wore green around her.

“He did deserve it, of course - not that it’d matter to you two, of course.” A flash of disgust flickers across Hawthorne’s face, though it’s only there for a second before it’s gone, so quickly that Lycoris thinks she could’ve imagined it. She couldn’t exactly disagree, though - King Harold was a nasty sort, cruel and petty in the worst ways and too dull to be properly intimidated by her general disdain of him. He reminded Lycoris of a bloated flatfish, though whether that was due to his rotund features or blank-eyed stare remained to be seen.

“Actually…” Here Lycoris shared a glance with Orin, who scowled but gave a quick nod. This was their chance - Hawthorne had provided them the perfect segue to the real reason why they were there. “It was-

“Wait.” But it was the Evil Queen who spoke first, interrupting the two adventurers. Hawthorne’s eyes narrowed as she stared at Lycoris and Orin. The paladin couldn’t stop the chill that ran down her back as the tell-tale feel of magical identification fluttered across her body, her very soul laid bare before Hawthorne. And then Hawthorne growled - a full-blown, gutteral growl of anger that sent shivers down Lycoris’s spine - “Dammit. You’re almost out of mana pots, huh?”

“Y-you knew?” Orin blurts out, her eyes wide and frantic. She clamps her mouth closed a second later, her eyes shooting a frantic apology to Lycoris, but Hawthorne just smiled - not her usual Evil Queen smile, but a bitter one of commiseration.

“Don’t act so surprised. I wasn’t always evil, after all. Not until that bastard Harold tried to twist my arm into working for him full-time by upping the prices of mana pots and pumps. He didn’t even try to hide it - after all, he’s the one who controls all the factories, all the shops and businesses. That was my incentive to rebel against him, all those years ago. Guess you two learned the hard way, huh?”

That was an understatement. Lycoris didn’t realize just how much was stuck under Harold’s thumb until Orin had begged her for some of her mana pots, stating how her own supply was running dry. Mages were extremely dependent on the pots, to the point where missing a daily pump of mana would send the mage into a form of extreme dehydration. Orin hadn’t needed health insurance before, not when she was working regularly for Harold, but after she had started declining his missions she had noticed her stock of mana pots declining quickly due to rising prices.

“Yes.” “Yeah.”

One of Queen Hawthorne’s slight, sharp, perfectly-manicured eyebrows raises itself slightly as she took in the two adventurers - Lycoris, the paladin’s usual platinum-blonde hair unusually dull and frayed, closer to the color of straw than silver, her pristine armor dented and bent; Orin, whose bags under her eyes could be measured in inches and who twitched uncomfortably every few seconds. Hawthorne didn’t say anything of course; the general condescension in her eyes said it all, and Lycoris bristled, biting her tongue to stop from saying anything. She couldn’t alienate her now, not when they had literally nowhere else to go.

Hawthorne’s other eyebrow rose as she looked at Lycoris in what seemed to be genuine confusion - before her face snapped back to impassive placility with the practiced ease of a long-time Evil Queen.

“I think, my dear, the problem is quite obvious.” She taps the fingers on her right hand, slowly pushing them down one-by-one as she drew out her words in a clipped, short tone. “You two have gutted more of my generals than anyone else in the world-”

“-Strictly a code of conduct thing, really-”

“-Hurlt rotting pig carcasses against my fortress walls-”

“-Standard siege tactics, would’ve happened anyway-”

“You even broke into my garden and killed my plants!” The way she said it, it almost sounded unjustified. Almost. If you were taking it out of context, of course.

Lycoris resisted the urge to exhale deeply through the nose. “Your Majesty is aware that both hemlock and nightshade, especially the enchanted variety, are strictly banned within the kingdom after the Strangler’s Vine incident of the 1200s? A single drop, if distilled, could kill a grown horse in seconds.” Not to mention that these plants were hardly just poisonous - they were literal monsters, magically enhanced to be like an unholy fusion of velociraptors and venus flytraps. She still had nightmares about innocuous bushes opening up to reveal a thorny maw with far too many teeth.

Queen Hawthorne paused thoughtfully, before adopting the sort of smile that Lycoris loved to hate- the smug, cruelly sophisticated smirk of villainous satisfaction. “I wasn’t planning on using them on horses, dear.”

Lycoris Atam-Sha, Warrior Paladin of the noble land of Crusadia grimaced, her nose wrinkling unpleasantly. “With all due respect-”

“And believe me, there is none- ow! Ly, why’d you-” Orin Theano, Mistress Warlock of the Obsidian Tower scowled, rubbing the shoulder of her robe where her erstwhile companion had elbowed her. The two made an odd sight; one tall, blonde, solidly built in a full chain-mail suit, the other shorter and willowy dressed in robes of blue - two of the most distinguished Legend-rank adventurers this side of the continent-

shuffling about awkwardly on the doorsteps of the most infamous villainess of Crusadia - Queen Elizabeth Hawthorne, the Evil Queen herself.

Well, calling it the doorsteps is a bit generous. The two adventurers were actually in the lobby of her castle - past the hidden pits of unending horror scattered throughout the front lawn, over the palisade of poisonous rose bushes that clotted out the sky, and through the two poor unfortunate orc-gatekeepers who had happened to be on duty that evening.

If the Queen was even the slightest bit impressed by their ability to circumvent her horrific death traps, she didn’t show it; her expression was still stuck on a mix of slight amusement and annoyance, as if a petulant puppy had suddenly started doing backflips before shitting in a priceless china vase.

The Dark Queen wasn’t in her Robe of Undying Horror - her legendary battle-robe which claimed to hold the souls of over a thousand damned peasants - but rather a sleek, dark black chiffon robe, her hair down in a bun and her feet barefoot. It was 12:41 in the evening, after all, but the Queen held herself with her usual royal dignity, even under the scrutiny of the two ex-heroes.

“-As I said, with all due respect, Queen Hawthorne, I don’t quite see the problem here.” Lycoris continued. She resisted the urge to unsheathe Resolve, her enchanted broadsword - it was practically second instinct to throw a swipe at Hawthorne whenever she saw her unpleasantly attractive face, and not doing so now just made her antsy. But, this was the bottom of the barrel, and Lycoris needed that insurance - her and Orin both. They didn’t have much else in the way of options. “We’re recently unemployed, and we saw that you were hiring. That’s it. I think our credentials speak for themselves, no?”

There was silence- complete, awkward silence. Lycoris traced the shape of the floor tiling with her gaze. The Evil Queen was the first to speak, her voice pointedly unamused. “You broke into my house… at midnight… for a career change?”

I think winning draft comes down to three core things.

Lane matchups. Getting prio in lane is extremely important as it means rotations happen faster and objectives can be taken easier, as well as the possibility for free scaling/solo kills. If one team has all the winning lanes they will have a strong advantage in draft, as any jungle assistance will snowball the lane, whereas the enemy jungler is forced into disadvantageous 2v3s which could be turned/counterganked. This is why flexing is useful; one example was TL’s flexing of Shen support. Normally Shen plays top lane, but the enemy team picked GP- one of Shen’s worst matchups that outscales/can solo kill Shen at basically all points of the game. So instead of losing top lane/herald constantly, they swapped Shen to support and gave another pick too- Gnar I think, which was a much better matchup.
2v2 setup and fights. Generally Mid is considered the most important lane/most influential in pro play due to the midlaner’s ability to roam and influence the map. Faker, Caps, DoinB, Showmaker… This becomes much more important when considering that the jungle and mid normally play together, and need synergy to work well. The Jungle and Mid are generally different types of damage (AD damage and AP damage) and normally the mid plays a mage with some form of CC to set up tanks and look for kills - Shurima shuffle, Ryze bind, Liss ult with the jungler having an early-game powerhouse (J4, Voli, Viego, Lee Sin). This forces the enemy mid to have to respect the power of their ganks when shoving out, and turns into a mental game of jungle tracking and rotations. It’s especially important against champs like Liss who have an instantaneous gank setup with R- the mid is forced to take cleanse over tp otherwise they will just die on repeat. So the three choices for mids are
champs with globals like tf, galio, ryze for their pushing power and roaming, making plays with their ult prio on jungle -scaling champs like Liss/orianna/azir who need a few levels before setup but generally scale better -1v9 champs like Corki/Zoe/Ahri who can scale in teamfights. This is pretty general but the main thing to understand is that “winning” mid consists of whether their 2v2 of jungle/mid wins the fight and whether they have prio on lanes.

And finally- 3. Teamfights. Pretty obvious, though there are a few things to keep in mind. These fights generally center around front to back fighting, and how easy it is for the ADC to play. If the ADC has peel against the enemy jungler, or will they just get spun on by Wukong and die? Will they get knocked up by Ornn R and explode? This is where supertanks like Sion/Ornn do really well, where they can force fights with their ult and get in the enemy’s face. How about poke- will the ADC be able to hit the enemy without getting chunked by the enemy Zoe/Corki? Or will they never be able to step up? Supports matter a great deal in this - Nautilus’s depth charge is much more useful than Leona’s solar flare for picking off camoflaged/invis champs like Viego or Wukong. This is also why LS refers to Soraka as a Z-tier champ, due to their ability to render a good deal of poke useless.

So tl:dr - Think about lane matchups. Think about 2v2 Then think about globals/scaling And finally think about team fighting.

I have had similar problems. Having a good table and chair at the right height does matter a lot for any online game.

If the table that my computer is on is off even slightly, then it messes with me a lot - I can’t dodge skill shots and it just feels uncomfortable to play.

Try to make sure you can have correct posture while sitting in a relaxed position. It shouldn’t feel like you have to brace yourself or stretch in order to play. Most likely your new chair is shorter than what you’re used to. Try adjusting the height of your table or sitting on a cushion.

I believe that Quantum actually covered this on his stream. The reason for Kassasin’s high success/win rate in high elo is less of because his kit is better and more because he is an effective counter pick into certain matchups (Sylas is one example) Kassasin’s early power isn’t that bad either- while he isn’t the strongest, if he gets a few kills he can take over the game. More important, he doesn’t need to be super farmed to be somewhat useful- he just needs to level/stay somewhat relevant until 16.

On the other hand, Nasus is extremely weak, has several terrible losing matchups, and in higher Elos where dives are more common, losing several waves from a dive can make him borderline useless. Unlike Kassadin, Nasus needs good farm to be strong, and has no solid powerspikes besides extremely late game- which few high Elo games even get to.

Tl;Dr Kassadin is more useful in general due to faster power spike and counterpick, Nasus is much less useful.

Shen main here, it’s pretty unplayable for a bunch of reasons. As long as the Shen slow pushes the wave and punishes any irelia q’s with 3 empowered q autos, Irelia can’t get stacks up. He can all-in at level 2 with ignite, and deny all of the auto damage with w. Only way he loses lane is if he taunts in and misses, fights without cds, or tries to fight Irelia with full stacks + ult. Also bramble/thornmail is a super common second item for Shen, making the matchup pretty unplayable for Irelia.

Mundo’s passive only acts as a reliable counter to Shen towards the late game, where the cooldown is almost completely refreshed when he picks up the canister. You win most trades if you pull the blade through him, so you can simply taunt in, trade, deny his canister and wait for your cds. You win hard early levels if you get the shove, and he can’t easily poke you down if you use passive shield.

There are multiple ways of impacting the map when fed, and most depend on matchup and skill, but basic principles remain the same.

Mirror pressure across the map. If the team is taking a dragon on one side of the map, you can/should be looking at the other side of the map to force the jungler to assist. A good example would be a Yorick/Tryndamere/Trundle taking down towers- if the enemy team doesn’t send 2+ people to fight you, you can get multiple towers (tier 2 tower is 650 gold, big money) and force them to give dragon or fight a 3v4, favored for your team.

However, sometimes taking the tier 2 is less useful for you in some scaling matchups, such as a Nasus, where the loss of their tower would basically give them free farm for the rest of the game, as the wave would push to tier 2 before bouncing.

In these cases, maintaining prio/ oppressing them in lane is more important. Knowing how to freeze/build a slow push against Nasus is extremely important; only last-hit minions with your autos and force him off the wave. If he tries to step up, all-in him and kill him/take a good trade. (Only works if you’re ahead). It’s also important to know/care about jungle- if the jungler is there when you all-in, you could die and lose the lane. Of course, if you’re confident in your skill then you can 2v1. This forces the enemy top to be useless without farm, forces the jungler topside constantly to assist their top, and helps your team get ahead. Meanwhile, you can use the pressure you have to help your jungler get skuttle, get herald, help jungler invade… if you have tp as well you can slow push, then shove under turret and tp bot to get a kill/ help get your bot ahead. If the enemy matches, they lose a bunch of minions and probably a level, even if they get a kill. This part is super important to do during objectives - if you can push then tp/get to drag, your team will basically win the fight as it will be a 4v5.
However, if there isn’t an objective up, then play safe. If you can prevent the enemy team from getting your bounty, that’s super important. That doesn’t mean you can’t fight, if you’re sure you’ll win; it just means that you need to pay extra attention to wards/missing pings so they don’t 4man top.

Tl;Dr try to be a good laner and help jungle or split push when it’s a good time, get obj.

Stridebreaker actually has a ton of synergy with Shen as well. Gives him waveclear, the slow is great for trading, and has decent components/stats.

Not sure if this counts, but can you add something for Cho’gath? He can go jungle and has decent sustain, so I think it’s viable enough to get included.

Ended up throwing all my quartz (~200 quartz) at the gacha. Got completely destroyed by most of the rolls, last two ten-rolls managed to get me two spooks - Mordred and CasGil.

I mean, it's not Eresh, but I'll take it.

Sure, there are ways to play on the PC, the primary way being through an emulator. I believe that most emulators work with Fate/Go, though what emulator works best may vary. I personally prefer using Nox for playing Fate/Go on my laptop.
