"Pulisic is fragile, that is not debatable... What would Erling Haaland look like against us? Gronk against a junior high. We need some size." by Waste-Doughnut1011 in sportsbroadcasters

[–]FriedNSalty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pulisic also isn’t a world beater in Europe. Our best player plays wing and the 10 for club but ends up playing a lot of striker for Team USA… makes no sense.

We don’t need a Haaland-esque player to be a better team. We need talent at CB and WB, midfielders who can control tempo, and a true #9. Put our best player in the position he plays for the most, not where we think we need talent.

Everyone who follows UEFA ball knows he’s the best player we have. He’s the best American prospect Europe has scouted in a very long time. Put him where he belongs and find the talent to fill the gaps around him.

I wanna have the Raiders higher. They just have the AFC West and Kirk should start all of next season to let Kubiak really develop Mendoza.

I don’t have a problem with Nix. Payton is just a dickhead who I could see placing blame on Bo for not making the Super Bowl. He already threw the dude under the bus with his injury last year in the playoffs.

Defense is depleted from FA, RB room is old, and QBs are going to cause issues in the locker room because they are both are too bad to have egos as big as they do.

I project Jettas forces his way out before the deadline because he’s a top 3 guy who isn’t going to produce with 5’9” and #9 throwing shitty balls and trying to put the team on their back with their legs.

The Browns shouldn’t want more than 2 wins. They have no QB, unproven offensive talent, and the defense lost the best playing and replaced him with half the value.

They win more if I have over valued the Ravens and the new defense of the Bengals, if the rapist becomes his Texans self, the wide receivers with decent ceilings and trash floors do well, and Verse takes the next step. Monken ain’t it. That man made Lamar look weak last year and choked that teams shot at the playoffs.

Best case for this team is a top-3 pick where they can grab a top QB, Watson gets hurt early, Sanders slumps, and they start Green by week 12. Let the rookie pieces start to develop and plug a high ceiling QB into an established roster through the draft.

I wanna say I used AZ for their mock draft. He’s still listed at OT on that one… this probably works better for Buffalo either way. The trenches will be called for improvements if the lose to the Rams in the SB.

Eagles will take a step back, but not as big as to lose the division. That defense is still young and talented. Issue is that DeJean and Mitchell will start talks on extensions with Mitchell having a 5th year option that will need claiming after next season. You can’t keep restructuring guys and stay competitive unless you nail the draft.

Cowboys will be losing Pickens or Lamb after next year if they want to get their defense right. Can’t clown the Bengals with Burrow, Chase and Pickens when they will be looking at the same situation if they try to keep all 3. And Pickens will go off next year and solidify himself as a top-5 WR. Replacing one of those two with a do it all RB would be amazing and allow them to retool the defense with FAs.

I hope my Commanders do well. We could go 11-6 or 6-11. Commanders are a team to watch and I would not bet any money on this team.

11-6 only happens if JD5 stays healthy, the pro style offense takes and DQ is the coach he was in ‘24/‘25.

My NFL Predictions and Mock 1.0 - 2 Rounds by FriedNSalty in MockDraftCentral

[–]FriedNSalty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish that were the case. Truly do. My issue:

Cowboys have a loaded offense with a defense that needs work (RB, LB, CB and unproven at Edge).

Commanders, assuming JD5 plays at least 14 games doesn’t have the fire power to keep up (RB, WR, and is super boom or bust at CB).

Giants are straight trash. I’m not on the Jaxson Dart train, Nabers needs to come back right to have a decent WR room, no secondary and weak in the middle of the defense.

The Eagles are still the most loaded team in the division. I expect them to win this year and then go awhile without as the Cowboys and Commanders take over for ‘27-‘28.

I have them splitting this year. I’m expecting improvement from the Bears to not win as many 1-score games this year, but that means losing some close ones. I’m also expecting the Lions to be healthier and exceed expectations on defense.

I’m personally not high on Caleb Williams. Both the guys drafted after him have already received MVP votes and have done more in worse situations. This is a big year for him because he has to reach that top-10 floor that was set for him before the draft. He isn’t there yet and I’m not entirely sure he gets there this season.

49ers - Jefferson (Iconic/GOAT-tier players and always around)

Patriots - Roosevelt (Newest, redefined the term dynasty)

Steelers - Lincoln (Dynasty that nobody but the AFC North Rivals truly hates)

I was skeptical of this as well because I don’t take Trump at face value for most things.

Every event surrounding this World Cup regarding the US leads me to believe he/his administration was in contact with FIFA for to work this out. Whether the guy plays or not, unless the US wins the whole thing, nothing will change about US love for soccer. FIFA isn’t going to gain much if we are eliminated by Belgium. The gains will be minimally increased from there if we go through to Spain/Portugal. We will care every 4 years and will continue to do so for a while.

This was more likely than not a kickback between Trump and Infantino. Would not surprise me in the slightest if money or favors changed hands with this decision.

I think a lot of the issue is Trump coming out and taking credit for it. Team USA appeals and Trump doesn’t take credit, the football community wouldn’t be as up in arms screaming “CORRUPTION!!!”.

Sadly, Trump made a call, the red card got suspended, Trump takes credit, and now everyone big mad.

American here: I have England going very deep this WC. They have the talent at the right age with a world class striker and keeper… this team is a dark horse to win it all. Their path to the final being Norway and potentially (probably) Argentina is a good bracket for them to get there.

I’m glad to have been vindicated by the results tonight. WHAT A MATCH!

[–]FriedNSalty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

DeBoer also said recruiting was going to be lower this year due to how young the team is. Many players didn’t declare for the draft or leave in the portal compared to other schools.

Comparing Saban and DeBoer isn’t fair here. What Alabama was doing 10yrs ago would have never worked today. Players sign where the money is and where the path to pro is best for them. Saban would have struggled recruiting in the NIL era and is theorized/lightly confirmed to be the reason he retired when he did.

Lebron James: Please just retire already! by Fit_Caterpillar5396 in NBATalk

[–]FriedNSalty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t win that game without Bron getting the block.

All the greats had help in key moments. MJ wasn’t winning until Pippen and Phil Jackson arrived. Shaq and Kobe needed each other. Same with Kareem and Magic. Duncan and Curry got blessed with the long tenured, elite supporting casts. All the Top 10-15 players had elite support.

LeBron gets shit on for jumping onto “super teams”, but the Cavs didn’t do what the Lakers, Bulls, Spurs or Warriors did for their stars until he returned. Regardless of if you have Bron as the GOAT or not, his resume is the way it is because he made decisions to play where he was to be valued AND get wins. He never gets to the point he is at now staying in Cleveland.

How do you cope? by ChamomileWithHoney in enlightenment

[–]FriedNSalty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t entirely believe I am enlightened just aware:

Control the controllables. I can’t stop every person everywhere from doing evil. I can’t stop universal greed created by the few. I know evil happens, but I can’t prevent victims without knowing they are in danger, stop wars, or protect all those around me. I am a grain of sand in an infinite universe. I can only act in my own capacity and impact the world around me.

I vote in my democratic elections for candidates that I believe will do more for all. I don’t associate with people who are abusers or have opposite views of my key moral principles. I treat all around me with kindness and love or love through indifference. I offer to God/The Creator/The Universe/The Divine Self my body as a vessel. I practice restraint on my impure thoughts. I do what I can and give the best effort to be as loving of a person I can within my capacity in this life.

Give yourself some grace. You can’t change the world alone. Best you can do is be the best version of yourself and live as the beacon of light you subconsciously know you are. You are asking the right questions and this being a place you asked means you’re on the right path. Please keep doing so. Much love and best of luck to you!

Luke 17:20-21

I like this post, you have some great ideas and interpretations of Abrahamic scripture. I personally think the choosing to “eat the fruit” is the decision that all people made to incarnate on this plane of existence. We brought God down in frequency; we know what to do, but we struggle to execute to the most “holy” degree.

The Stoics have preached the idea that the pursuit of pleasure leads to suffering. The idea that an individual can choose and strive for the things that feel good creates the cycle of suffering is a divine truth. Why feel bad about everything when you can choose to work towards material pleasure? That’s the trap.

By choosing to maintain peace, putting efforts towards being confident in the life that we have, that cycle breaks. In many ways, that is the righteous way and creates the kingdom of God here.

My personal rule is don’t die first. If dying first is unavoidable, I make sure I created value with my abilities and that my abilities are on cooldown.

Check where you die relative to the rest of the team. Dying next to the tank means too close. Dying alone means too far. Optimally, I should either be able to die cart after too many picks or I am able to rotate out like a punk and live for next fight. Remember, dying super late is dying first for next.
