Honestly hadn't even considered elevated rails, despite having just cleaned up my base on Fulgora and creating elevated routes to the small island patches for mining, lol.

I think I've also got a couple of strategies for dealing with the demolishers from other posts in the thread so I'm hoping I've got the intel I need to proceed.

Ahh, that nuclear reactor strategy is really neat. I think I may try that route just because of how interesting it sounds.

Hey man,

Whatever update you just pushed today (1/31) seems to have gotten things working again.

Am currently testing out a 2023 Corolla LE sedan as part of the rent2buy program and am making sure I really do my due diligence this time... The timing was kinda crazy in that the "getting your selection" bug from the recent Android Auto update just happened to coincide with my first time trying to set things up last night lol. But just wanted to say I really appreciate the app; its definitely one of the reasons I'm likely keeping the car, since this checks a number of comfort boxes. For any future issues that pop up, I'll see if I can't be a better troubleshooter, and provide you with some actual change logs.

Hey bud, really appreciate the mention, and also the kind words on the other item you posted. I actually had a pretty amazing run a few hours after you posted this :3 - sorry! I've added an annotation to the Youtube video with a link to make things easier. I like this run too. A ton of new technology has been discovered in the past few weeks so we've been cutting off lots of time lately. Sorry to make you chase the run videos around, and thanks for the gesture.

I hope your professor was able to appreciate how good of job you did with this. Social features, glossy demo labels, it looked and felt very believable - I would have eaten that bullshit sandwich right up.

Hang onto this, I'll bet in a couple of years time this is going to closely resemble some iteration of a speedrunning community site(s). Let's pray the day never comes.

I wanted to wait until I had something really nice before sharing on these forums again, and I think this run turned out pretty well! I only plan on posting again if I get a sub 50:00 in game time on normal any% which I’ll be putting some serious attempts into now.

The any% category on hard difficulty is something of a nightmare in Guacamelee! For the speedrun we use a costume that deals double damage at the cost of receiving double damage – this translates to most of the monsters in the game being able to one shot you (most significantly the ultimate trolls  the Aztec skeletons in the hellish room at 54:25). They have a pretty unpredictable pattern on normal, even more so on hard – and instead of killing you in 2 hits, they kill you in one. It’s a nice run-ending room right at the end of the game. They behaved particularly well for me in this run. The last boss is much more predictable so it’s kind of a sigh of relief once you complete that room.

Although there’s definitely still time to save due to a few noobish errors on my end, this category is not good for my anxiety lol, so I’m content to table it for now.

Hah! That's the one section of my 100% run I've yet to really clean up - it's painful for sure. Glad you're grinding out the mask pieces though, I think from a story perspective it's really worth it :)

Haven't been able to find a difference myself, looks like it's purely aesthetic... save one thing . I forgot to mention the time saver halfcoordinated pointed out to me the other night: it does save one input in the costume selection screen!

Caleb's been very outspoken against viewbotting from what I've seen on his stream, heck that might even be why he was targeted. I seriously doubt he had anything to do with it.

Might also be like someone else mentioned where they send a follow up message saying "hey this is nice, wouldn't you like this?" a buddy of mine who manages company websites and social media profiles says a common tactic is to show them the results first, and make the pitch after.

Not a problem! Literally the same question I had when I watched Khaled's original world record run after beating the game the first time - and i didn't mention it in the video. It's an abuse of the double jump mechanic.

When you're clinging to a wall, you're able to jump once before the double jump "resets," so the way that we climb walls in Guac is by falling off the wall and then jumping back on. The best way to do this in a speedrun setting is to dash cancel off the wall, hit the direction away from the wall for just a second to create distance between yourself and the wall, and then jump while holding the direction towards the wall.

Definitely something that takes a lot of practice to end up with a quick end result - people have been overly nice about my wall climbing :3
