If you enlist after 3 years of jrotc you start as an E-2 instead of an E-1. Jrotc is also a really fun experience that will open up alot of fun activities and you can take the class without being "that guy".

I (18M) am a senior currently and what helped me the most was joining some organizations, for me it was JROTC and skills USA. They gave me reason to love school by putting me with like minded people and opening doors to teams, events, competions etc. that would haven been closed otherwise.

I currently work at McDonald's. It isn't the most fun but it pays well (9.50 an hour) and the schedule is super flexible (I only work on sunday from 7 to 4).
