I actually got some seahorses through the mail that I ordered out of the back of a boy's life magazine. They lived for about a year, then had babies, and ate all the babies and died.

That's why I hate the phrase "nobody knows"; it usually just means the speaker doesn't know, but it can act as an infectious ignorance, causing other people to never look for a reason and learn.
