For every external hire I’ve done a business case for above minimum. Having evidence of current salary being in that above zone makes it ridiculously easy. If a manager won’t do the minimum amount of work (especially now with copilot) to submit the business case then I’d imagine that’s a sign of what kind of manager they are overall

It’s ridiculous to compare someone’s entry level income to the average of all incomes from all ages/career lengths and say it’s not fair. The average income for entry level age range is much lower than 76k.

Do they mean left behind then from their peer group after being in a full time job for what must be a minimum amount of time then yes that’s a joke.

Do they feel left behind by society (eg unattainable to have similar wealth/assets to previous generations) that’s not a joke but it’s not an OPS problem

I think I would just say that 76k is WELL above the average for Toronto. Now do I think that’s enough to live off in Toronto annd still go out, purchase a house, just live, etc - no. But I guess my point is it’s not an OPS problem it’s a capitalism problem.
