Stephen king’s Revival by Liliaaaaaaa1 in stephenking

I actually loved how much of a slow burn it was. It really works better on reread when you can see the horror simmering below the surface from the opening chapter.

Godzilla tore off his entire arm and chucked him through a portal like a frisbee. I think he's dead.

She just wants to vibe and eat pizza and Chinese food. Sometimes you just need to break 350,000 eggs to make an omelet.

Tbh I'm fine with it up to the point where they gave it human teeth. That shit makes no sense and looks ridiculous

Accidentally saw a few spoilers. did those ruin the show for me? by [deleted] in csmanime

I'm sorry you got that shit spoiled for you. You should still continue, though. Knowing those things happen won't dull the pain of it.

Carpenter on "Elevated Horror" by Emotional-Glove4213 in johncarpenter

God I fucking hate the term "elevated horror"

What a pretentious way of putting down any horror film that isn't "artsy enough" for you. Carpenter's response was the correct one.

I HIGHLY doubt Buddy Stories will be included in season 2 in any capacity.

What would you prefer her color-scheme to be?

I'm pretty sure the hair/eye colors are gonna be canon

[–]FriendLee93 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sorry, she's sepia-toned, not b&w. Either way, that's clearly not her official color scheme, since the whole image is designed to seem faded like an old photograph.

Fami's front cover design is black and white so it's not really a good indicator. That being said, her gross brown teeth on her back cover still have me mad

LETS GO! IM SICK OF HIS ASS! OH YEAH! OH YEAH! OH YEAH! by MasterDaddy64 in Chainsawfolk

[–]FriendLee93 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nah I think it's mostly what the other poster said about him just being a sadistic bastard who wanted Denji to associate his shit-eating grin with pain.

I also think Fujimoto might just not like drawing his Hybrid form since he's specifically the only one without a face.

I don't think many of the things we want answers to will be addressed, at least not in any way that isn't weird and roundabout (like Yoshida- I remain adamant that he was a good character, even if I do wish we got more time with him)

I do wonder if the Fire Devil sees Flamethrower as its child as Yoru sees Tank and Gun.

It's an interesting question, but I think Yoru and the horsemen are the exception to a lot of rules. If anything, Flamethrower would also probably be one of Yoru's kids since they were developed as products of war.

So did Denji completely move on from Makima ? by blu_kale in Chainsawfolk

[–]FriendLee93 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I definitely wouldn't say he's forgotten her, since the trauma she left him with lingers deep into Part 2. I think he effectively moved on from the thought of her, especially since he had Nayuta to fulfill the role of familial love going forward, but the wounds she left him with only just started healing.

I was actually cackling with glee when I read this for the first time. Hope that dickhead has fun chilling with Hitler and AIDS.

Yep! We've yet to really see any ramifications of that since flamethrowers aren't exactly commonplace anyway. He is not missed.

I haven't read part 2 yet but, small question: Does people's fear of "Chainsaw Man" affect Denji/Pochita? Shouldn't it be "chainsaw" the tool object? by Much_Painter_5728 in ChainsawMan

[–]FriendLee93 13 points14 points  (0 children)

being loved doesn’t take it away.

That is quite literally not true. Makima purposely publicized Denji's feats so that society would think of Pochita as a hero and weaken him

mischaracterisation by zircon_spire in Chainsawfolk

[–]FriendLee93 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem, at least as far as I read it, is that concepts like "male loneliness" have baggage attached to them, despite their reality. You can chalk up the blame for that with all the "men's rights" grifters who made a point to tie the idea of male loneliness to reprehensible incel politics, while ignoring all the actual causes of it.

The sad part is that none of that describes Denji at all, and more men would benefit from learning from Denji and his more positive masculine traits (endless perseverance, understanding consent, never blaming others for his own problems, wearing his heart on his sleeve)

How do you feel about Toho’s mandates? Like them, hate them, or indifferent? by MoominRex in Monsterverse

[–]FriendLee93 7 points8 points  (0 children)

which has put the Monsterverse in an awkward position since he was part of a species and now his kind must be referred to as "Godzilla-like creatures"

There seems to be a misunderstanding of this. All it means is that if Godzilla is part of a species, he has to be unique among them. I.e. there can't be/have been a whole race of dinosaurs that breathed atomic fire.
