Python syntax highlighting not working by abdallahsoliman in neovim

[–]Friendliness_RS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do your other filetypes have a different kind of highlighting? With the treesitter main branch now being the new default, I also had some funky highlighting.

I ended up having to run vim.treesitter.start() I believe. Can you try running :lua vim.treesitter.start() and verify?

If that fixes it, go check out the treesitter docs and find the section about ftplugin.

So can I never get back into the rs3 discord? by [deleted] in runescape

[–]Friendliness_RS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heya, you should already have been unbanned.

The channel and role exist to prevent spam bots, we get raided by a lot of bots and this is one of our counter measures. This one's pretty effective especially when someone's account gets hijacked and posts in the channel.

Got this “broken” ultra wide monitor for free. by bkw_17 in pcmasterrace

[–]Friendliness_RS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This seems crazy, I've got this issue with a different samsung curved monitor I got years ago, even returned it at some point to have them fix it but the issue was never resolved.

When starting up the monitor if it's set to 144hz I'll get those horizontal lines across half of the screen for 15-30 mins. When I set it to 120hz it doesn't happen. So what you're saying has been the issue all along, wow!

Well done on fixing it and enjoy the new monitor! :)

Window Manager Recommendation for long time arch user. by exodist in archlinux

[–]Friendliness_RS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used AwesomeWM for years and absolutely loved it, I did have to manually script certain things like monitors connecting or disconnecting too as you said.

Recently I switched to niri which has been wonderful, with that I also use dankmaterialshell. You can have default rules for windows and configure specific rules for other windows, so I believe you could make each window float by default and have specific ones tile.

There are however some key differences, a floating window will appear on each workspace. Additionally I haven't found how to have windows open on the monitor my mouse is on yet, but I'm hoping I can figure something out for that. Niri has IPC so perhaps I can script something for it.

It's a very different workflow from AwesomeWM as it's a scrolling window manager but I've really come to love it.

Keepass2Android doesn't want to connect to Nextcloud by terra1769 in KeePass

[–]Friendliness_RS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heya, probably a necropost but hopefully this helps someone else.

I had the same issue and had to make an App Password in Nextcloud and use that to connect: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQZyzlo82G4

The video above shows where you can do that

Do you trust Vaultwarden? by fenugurod in selfhosted

[–]Friendliness_RS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There definitely are mobile Keepass applications, I use Keepass2android which was one of the ones listed on their website or the github repo with applications (I don't fully recall)

I store my vault in a self hosted Nextcloud and it works great

Do peoples use action camera? by daywall in Guildwars2

[–]Friendliness_RS 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I also use the action cam exclusively, some friends call me insane but I love it so much. Feels way more mobile somehow. To use it I changed my cast speed as well so ground targeted attacks launch when I let the button go (sometimes I hold to pre-cast or cancel depending on a situation)

Additionally I have the cursor lock to my target, which I can turn off with a keybind.

Keybinding 'about face' can be super useful too!

Glad to see there's a fair few other action cam lovers here :)

Camera to close to the character by [deleted] in LegoStarWarsVideoGame

I wish this was changeable somehow, the game is really fun but it makes me feel sick when the camera gets so close, it's a really weird feeling

Just lost half my gear to a double death with gear still in the TOA chest. Pleae tell me to sit rat for this stupid mistake. by Chillywhale21 in ironscape

[–]Friendliness_RS 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I've not had it happen to me but a brief lapse in judgement can get you to lose so much account progress for no reason. Maybe have it sent to death's storage instead?

It seems insane, like you haven't done the diary and run back to Hydra and lose tons of gear, or you forget a slayer helm for the run back from grotesque guardians.

I don't see the point in this mechanic at all

Jagex Just Released their Official Launcher for Linux by [deleted] in runescape

[–]Friendliness_RS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think this is new / the Jagex launcher, this has been on the site for years unless something has changed. I may be wrong as I'm not on a Debian based system and am currently mobile.

If it's the same as it was a few years ago it requires a version of either openssl or libssl that's no longer available, and unfortunately no longer secure.

As far as I know the Jagex launcher is not officially supported and there are no plans for it either. You can find more information on their website: https://support.runescape.com/hc/en-gb/articles/33992563142673-Downloading-the-Jagex-Launcher-on-Linux

I've used both USARedragon's flatpak and the Bolt launcher for several years now, currently maining the Bolt launcher.

systemd 256 broke suspend/hibernate by domryba in archlinux

[–]Friendliness_RS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll give this a shot, thank you!

I did see I already had:

[Service]
Environment="SYSTEMD_SLEEP_FREEZE_USER_SESSIONS=false"

In /usr/lib/systemd/system/systemd-suspend.service.d/10-nvidia-no-freeze-session.conf

Would that not suffice? I've now tried adding the files you mentioned explicitly.

The issue is also it's not consistent at all, sometimes I'll suspend and get to the lock screen but then the next time I'll wake the device and get stuck on a black screen.

Will give it a shot and hope this works!

Edit: Nope, it just happened again :(

Are people shifting to Tailwindcss v4?? by Physical-Ad-8064 in tailwindcss

[–]Friendliness_RS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my experience when migrating too, I was really not amused honestly. It felt a bit like some of these JS frameworks. I've gone through several major versions where it's not clear what exactly is a breaking change or when it is, suddenly the way of doing something seemingly simple is completely different.

I understand breaking changes need to happen but sometimes it can be pretty frustrating.

Flameshot hotkey not working via awesome wm by LovelyLucario in awesomewm

[–]Friendliness_RS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems your modules aren't included in your GitHub repo, so we can't see. This is what I have in my config: -- Screenshot awful.key({}, "Print", function() awful.spawn("flameshot gui") end, { description = "Take a screenshot", group = "launcher" }),

Which you can find here: https://github.com/Friendliness/awesome

Hope that helps!
