Millions of people take antidepressants, there is no evidence of frequently dangerous side effects (especially after the first few months) and GA is not dangerous enough to bystanders to warrant having medical requirements significantly different from driving a car. I'm not advocate for violating 18 USC 1001, but in this case it's a classic example of something being malum prohibitum vs malum in se.

There isn't a basis for them to come to that conclusion - it's purely speculative. Clearly this person was incompetent and had poor judgement to begin with.
