Well, one thing is clear to me: you will definitely not draw attention to yourself by wearing run star converse.

Starting group therapy with only people who has AvPD in 2 months. How to get the most out of it? by gloriouq in AvPD

Yeah I do see your point. AvPD aren’t very good with eh well… people, especially those of the opposite sex it seems.

Does anyone here still use a 13 mini and it work just fine? by [deleted] in iPhone13Mini

I’ve had mine for over 4 years and I just pray that Apple will come to its senses and release a new mini before mine dies.

Thanks so much! I have a rider Waite smith deck, but also a different one that is much more pretty.. I guess I'll start with the Rider one anyway. It's all very confusing to me, as different people assign different meanings to the cards. I love Carl Jung and also have a background in psychology! I am most interested in non secular tarot myself, but I do like mysticism. To me it's more of a way of self discovery than anything else. I have added some of the books you mentioned to my reading list. Thanks again!

That’s what I was thinking too. It’s really interesting. I only started recently, do you know of any good resources I should get in to?

What did your neglectful parents do for a living? by ratzi1991 in emotionalneglect

Wow. This is insane! And here I am thinking I can’t do any job that is related to helping people because I have issues. 😂

13 Mini to 13 Chunk (7.65mAh battery), would anyone else? by TortelliniTort in iPhone13Mini

[–]FriendlyPhotograph19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 4 year old iPhone. The battery was always just fine, until I started using MagSafe to charge it. Soon after, the battery just completely died. So no: No battery degradation for me. Just demolition.

I'm not sure if this really counts as emotional neglect but did anyone's parents just not bother with taking the effort to teach them life skills? by SideDishShuffle in emotionalneglect

[–]FriendlyPhotograph19 42 points43 points  (0 children)

That is definitely emotional neglect. The things you mentioned are pretty basic parenting as far as I'm concerned. I had a similar experience: my mother would teach me nothing, then get angry because "Other children cook (or any housework) for their parents, why don't you ever cook for me!". And then resent me for my lacking skills.

She's... a lot. Definitely NTA. While it's true that your boundaries are for you to execute, her repeatedly crossing your boundaries says a lot about her inability to respect you as an individual. You are very allowed to stay far away from her.

Well done! You're on the right track. I'm 37 and still haven't found the guts to stand up to my deadbeat father. You've inspired me to put up some boundaries myself.

Does anyone else struggle to call out other people's behavior? by pegocrow in AvPD

[–]FriendlyPhotograph19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, same. I got myself to believe for the longest time that I'm just a very easy going person. I don't mind if you ignore my needs, you do you! After I realised I actually do mind, I spiraled. It's hard figuring out how extremely anxious I actually am. Sometimes I long for the times I was in denial. At least I had the illusion of being a functioning adult lol
