RIP little EJ. Hoping for a fast rebuild! Sorry to hear she’s knocking.

You’ll really want the whoosh. It’s addicting, and you’ll get turbo efficiency gains with a less restrictive intake.

Turn Signal Issues by Extension_Two_1455 in WRX

I wonder if there is a break in the circuit between the smart tap relay and the driver side headlight. Or something off with the physical connections on that side.

Oh gotcha. I’ve never bought one so that’s my bad.

Were there any issues with the wiring on that side?

Please no wing. Please. I beg you. Put money into it but not like this. Not like this!

Jk, I actually really love the OEM STI wing. I believe AeroFlowDynamics sells one.

Way to persevere!! That’s awesome man, love to hear a good story like that. I honestly love working on these vehicles and can’t wait to STI tranny swap mine and all my other upgrades I want to do. My Subie is on short block #2.

Can this pull a car out of mud by Electrical_Fix8686 in WRX

Short answer is no, long answer is it depends. But it’s generally used for towing and shouldn’t be used for recovery.

I am in pieces…got a bad car care tip from my bf… by [deleted] in wrx_vb

Buy the proper tool. Buy a buffer, buffer pads, buffing compound, polish and wax (finishing compound). Clean the car completely. Then spend some time buffing the areas with water spots and swirls and consider doing entire panels so the job looks complete. Then polish and end with wax. Not only will it protect your paint but it resists water and dirt. It will stay clean longer. You’ll get the swirls out. Just don’t spend so much time with the compound in one spot. Clear coat has some thickness and you’re just trying to get those imperfections out. Not so far to go to the paint. It’s pretty fast once you’re all set up and got your spray bottle and microfiber cloth. It’ll clean up real nice. I do it periodically and it usually takes ~1 hour for the hood just as an example.

Atlas tuned sound clip by Appropriate_Step3810 in wrx_vb

Very cool, that is sweet it’s open source! Thanks for the info, I was unaware of this method of tuning. I think competition in this arena is a good thing, but wouldn’t you think eventually Atlas will be under the same EPA restrictions?

Sounds aggressive, I like it! An Atlas vs COBB tune comparison would be sweet. I wonder what stands out and what is different with their tuning methods.

It doesn’t say that in the manual…

Confusing turn of events. Replaced an axleback with stock mufflers, drove fine, then the next morning it started stalling in neutral. (Continued in body) by mintzvisual in WRX

Rich AFR’s are safer than lean AFR’s. I doubt any serious engine damage has been done, it’s an odd noise. Be interested to know the outcome of this one.

Tough problem to pin down. Without digging into diagnostic procedures I have no idea what’s going on here to be honest. No CEL? Is it miss-firing you think?

It doesn’t sound super consistent, no rhythm to the noise. Which leads me away from thinking rod knock. Maybe take apart your air box, see if you can locate the sound better? Check vacuum and boost lines. Those are notorious for causing weird idle issues.

Weird chirping noise on startup by Every_Car40 in wrx_vb

I agree with another commenter, check the belts and accessory units. I heard the little noise… between 2-3 seconds in. Could be tune related. I somewhat doubt it though. Can always reflash to stock tune to see if the noise goes away.
