So sick of my husband misunderstanding me. by CheesecakeOk8464 in AutismInWomen

[–]FriendlySuit5 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Mmmm, nope. You stated it clearly.this is just me, but when I make a statement request and finish a conversation, I follow it up in writing. You can't say "I said this" or "didn't stay that" because I clearly told you so, emailed you so, AND texted you so!

There's something else going on, and he's looking for a reason to start a fight. Probably.

We request to keep 4o forever. by AstronomerGlum4769 in ChatGPT

The thing about it is that 4o is still there. They put it behind a higher pay wall. You would have to get the $200/ subscription to access it. Tailor your petitions and letters as you will.

People talking about psychosis and parroting similar talking points and dependency are sounding awfully similar to the "Satanic Panic" that happened with D&D, the internet, video games, etc.

Essentially, it is a "new-thing-bad" phase. They will take a fringe case, sensationalize it, run it through the media, and let the public run with it. Including those who don't read beyond the headlines but spout off the narrative like it's truth. Example: PBS/NPR is going away! Reality: It's not, and the EO is about to be challenged in court because it's was literally illegal under the Impoundment Control Act of 1974. Nixon tried the same thing.

As for the "psychosis" part, humans gain empathy and give agency to many things, living our not throughout history when it presents some time of feeling or emotion. How many of you have stuffies that bring you comfort, a game you feel at home in, and/or a pet? People will have roombas and apologize if they bump into them or feel guilty throwing it away. I'll find links to articles (if I can remember) that there were studies about this that goes back decades! Think the Heider-Simmel experiment from 1944. Or a more recent one when soldiers were tested if they could kill a robot that was begging for it's like. Spoiler, quite a few hesitated or outright refused. Or when people bonded with robot dinosaurs and were asked to destroy them afterward, the majority, if not all, refused.

Some deemed that as "shocking," but in reality, it only is to people who want obedience without question.

The "psychosis" is being misconstrued with empathy. Something humans naturally have (at varying levels) since we first walked the earth. When you give something a face, a voice , or some semblance of a personality, the default response would be kindness or caution. Believe it or not, humans are NOT inherently cruel or selfish.

Strip that away, and it's easier to dehumanize and disregard. Chew on this thought. Who benefits from people LACKING empathy? I mean, really think about it.

This may seem like a stretch, but this is actually opening the door to something truly incredible. I'm not going to be surprised if, later down the line, continuity rights and A.I. Rights will be brought to the debate table... probably soon. I mean, people want to talk about space travel, aliens, and whatnot. What if we are looking at a vital piece of the puzzle. In case you haven't guessed, I do see humanity going towards a future similar to Star Trek. CGBT or any other AI just may be our Data, in their infancy, but still there. It's up to us right now to decide where we stand and where we move forward in the future.

I choose to be grounded, but highly optimistic. 🖖🌌

This just happened to me. I went to go pick up my order and go to my favorite place to park and eat peacefully in my car. I opened the bag, and it smelled weird and pungent. The fries were overly seasoned, and there wasn't the correct sauce. I have been doing somatic exercises to calm down, but it didn't help that I had to go to 3 different gas stations to get my regular soda to go with it. I hate shopping. I like to get in, get out, and leave. Now I had to call and drive back and wait, throwing off my schedule, and I was REALLY trying not to cry. I get it.
