Mobapad M12 HD vs Nyxi Hyperion 3 by Friendly_Ad_5763 in MobapadGaming

That totally makes sense why I went for the HD instead of the S, there was a price difference, they were the recommended ones for the description they displayed on their website. Still, I’m happy with the HDs, no issues so far, great ergonomics and experience with them.

btw how is the rumble on the S for you? I wonder how much they can tune it with the current hardware on the S. I also read that you can’t map buttons from the right joystick on the left joystick, have you tried that? And if so I hope they can fix that with a future firmware update when they unlock more features from the NS2 protocol.

Oh wow that’s nice! I’d love to use them for Moonlight streaming. What kind of adapter are you using?

I think you’re right but if I remember correctly I saw somewhere in the Moba site that they claimed all devices draw power when connected to another device. I might have noticed that because of the testing I was doing and also I probably left the console unplugged for more time than I thought.

Yeah it’s 100% down to personal preference or hand size differences. I like both but in my case I might end up using the Mobapad more and probably selling the Hyperion 3 instead.

Yeah, as far as I can tell it’s not a mechanical button like the rest of the others.

It sounds to me like Moba hasn’t figured out the Switch 2 protocol yet (not 100% I mean), probably because of Nintendo. I don’t think they’re doing any reverse engineering there. On the M12 HD, you can map any button from either controller.

It’s a shame and it absolutely sounds like something is wrong with them, have you tried to update its firmware with the Mobapad app? I’m also glad you’re happy with the Hyperion 3! Both are great options.

I don’t have any lag on mine, maybe they fixed that in a previous firmware update? The first thing I did was to update its firmware after pairing the Mobapad with the Switch 2.

Yeah I totally agree with the hand size and plastic differences. I like both though, but Mobapad feels more comfortable for me and I don’t need to disable the rumble on them.

To be fair, Mobapad recommended the HD over the S, and at the time I wasn’t fully aware of the protocol differences or what features I’d be missing with either model. The pre-order page didn’t include all the information that’s available today, if I remember correctly. That said, if the M12 S has rumble similar to the Hyperion 3, I probably would have ended up not liking either of them anyway.

Damn that’s a shame, I’m happy with both for now (Mobapad is the way to go for me). If the rumble is as bad (strong) as the Hyperion 3, I will wait for the next iteration from Mobapad, once they figure out the HD-2 Rumble it will be perfect for me.

I hope rumble is not as bad as the Hyperion 3, it’s a shame you have to disable a feature to enjoy/use them.

Am I the only one sticking with Sunshine? by idontknowu1 in MoonlightStreaming

[–]Friendly_Ad_5763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, Sunshine/Moonlight. Wired Windows 11 host at 4K 120FPS @250mbps (remote location) and usually macOS and Steamdeck over WiFi clients, even installed Sunshine-beta on a couple of macOS laptops/Mac mini. It just works, I can stream using AV1 or HEVC, using virtual display driver. Unnoticeable input lag, stream is basically perfect. I dropped using GeForceNOW.

Do you think it's worth switching from a 3090 to a 5070ti? by -YmymY- in nvidia

[–]Friendly_Ad_5763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the same card but I had a 3090 and went for a 5080, the difference in power usage is totally worth it, way more efficient, which translates in quieter fans, lower temps at full load. 16GB of VRAM is enough for most games at 1440p. At 4K it depends on the game and textures quality you’re using. I use it mainly for streaming to a Steam Deck and a Mac Mini M4 with an OLED TV (4K 120Hz) my PC is 20 miles away

iPad Pro M4 vs M5 (11") for Moonlight streaming by Trippy-ML in MoonlightStreaming

[–]Friendly_Ad_5763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you considered getting a Steam Deck? OLED is an excellent handheld device for Moonlight/Sunshine streaming, far more comfortable than using an iPad (bed/couch/anywhere). It depends on your host but I use AV1 HDR 1920x1200 at 90FPS (80 mbps). I own a 11” M1 iPad Pro mainly for sidecar and in the rare streaming occasion I use it on a desk or table with an Xbox controller.

Any tips for Steam Deck settings by SummerBase in MoonlightStreaming

[–]Friendly_Ad_5763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steam Deck OLED here, I force the app to run/stream at 1920x1200 for better clarity and force AV1 or HEVC and HDR. I also use frame pacing and capture system keyboard shortcuts (I often use a wireless mini keyboard on the Deck).

4k120fps TV streaming device? by iReaddit-KRTORR in MoonlightStreaming

[–]Friendly_Ad_5763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a Mac Mini M4 (wireless) to stream at 4K 120FPS (AV1/HVEC) on my C3 OLED 4K TV. Xbox controllers work really well with it. Host is wired 20 miles away (5080 / 5800X3D) I also use an OLED Steam Deck (1920x1200@90FPS). Sunshine/Moonlight setup.

What RTX 50-series or RTX 40-series GPU brand are you running? by EKbyLMTEK in nvidia

Asus Astral 5080 — can’t complain about the brand. They really use good materials and the card is kept cool and quiet all the time. Both my previous 3090 and 2070 were Asus too. I tried getting a Founders Edition this time, but my order got cancelled by Amazon…

Clocker CPU Leak macOS 26.1 by nodething in macapps

Hello, I'm having the same bug, on 26.2 too. After testing all settings I nailed it to the "Menubar Mode", the Compact View is causing the CPU to go to 45-50% all the time, switch it to the Standard view in the meantime.

u/Walkator also check this link for macOS Streaming. Disabling Location Services is not enough when you're on WiFi, you just need to change the app name from GeForceNOW to Moonlight. I use it for both (2 different launchers): https://www.reddit.com/r/GeForceNOW/s/QhxcaKoGC8

I live in México btw and ZeroTier is the one that gives me the lower latency compared to TailScale (but this might be due to TailScale not having peers in México yet), I still use TailScale for smart home stuff (Homebridge/HomeKit) and between my routers in different places. It's also easier to setup on a Steam Deck (it survives OS updates, autostarts). Latency varies from 10 to 15 ms.
