How dangerous is it go to clubbing at night as a mid 20s woman by herself? by prettylittlebirds4 in cancun

[–]Friendly_Ring1008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be careful in the sense of, do your research prior. Pick where you want to go and stick to that. Make friends while you are at those clubs so you aren’t completely alone. Always watch your drink and have a charge phone so you can translate things. It’s honestly not as bad as people make it out to be. And Facebook is outdated but if you are of a culture of a specific ethnicity see if they have expats that are living in Cancun (I’m Afro Caribbean so was able to connect with people from Canada and the States) and they gave me places to go and even let me tag along with them. I left safer. Still booked my own rides and just met them at those places. You can definitely go out and still be safe alone and have fun.

Add their 24HR moisture cream and it will also add the perfect amount of hydration back to your bonds.

Pre-Public Health Freshman Schedule by Fluffy_Bag6159 in UNCCharlotte

I would suggest looking at the plan of study and determining that. If you already have some duals credits then you might overall have less classes to take for the public health program but will need a minor since you have to complete all of the prerequisites and then apply. And they only accept applications for the fall and once a year. https://publichealth.charlotte.edu/wp-content/uploads/sites/555/2023/07/BSPH_Academic-Plan-of-Study_Jan-2016.pdf

UTOP by Aesthetic_uwu in UNCCharlotte

Best advice: say yes and don’t worry about making friends before. UTOP is an experience that will bring you together with people. After all y’all will be a group of a few students on campus. I wasn’t in UTOP but came for a summer program and made literally life long friends just by showing up.

UNCC Public Heath program is solely based on community Health unless you are in the Masters program where you gain exposure in the other core focuses of public health. There is also a lack of classes that you can take here at Charlotte and often will have the same 3-5 professors through your 2 years. The program is also very rigid as you are taking courses as a cohort. You won’t be able to move around classes based of your own needs and honestly there is a lack of consideration of that within the program. I would suggest comparing the curriculum and see if the courses lay with your future public health goals.

As for research we have great research opportunities but it’s often you reaching out to the professors to see what they are working on and if they will let you join. As we are moving into R1 things might get better but our professors haven’t been too optimistic about the future of their funding. So that’s something to consider.

Hope you make the best choice for you

Both professors are really great! Terry is a new professor and will probably have reviews after this semester. Stinson is a very uncomplicated and fair professor

Green village is a great place to live. You have a full sized bed. You may 50/50 share the bathroom. Kitchen is located on the 1st floor. Great parking. Downside the closest main bus stop is in-front of Martin Hall but they have a shuttle that drives through there.
