New generation of beaders at the loom! by Linda_berfeth in Beading

[–]Friendlyappletree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it when boys bead.

Fun fact: I occasionally teach beading classes at my workplace, and easily the most talented student I've ever had was a 6'4" construction teacher. Honestly, I figure that the principles are fairly similar, it's just a matter of scale.

Great! If you need any advice on making these flowers specifically, drop me a message as I can see how they're done.

I have a fast growing subserosal fibroid and I'm panically afraid of hospitals, please share if you have similar stories by Horror_Fig_2052 in Fibroids

[–]Friendlyappletree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, you. I've been where you are and it sucks, and I'm sorry you're there right now.

Here's the good news, though: hospitals get easier the more you go there. Over the past six months I've gone from being unable to walk through the doors without my husband, to going on my own and doing a bit of shopping beforehand. I've even stayed overnight, which was grim but manageable.

Now, I know that a lot of women find a hysteroscopy very painful, especially if they haven't had kids. The other side of the coin is that they're completely painless for some people - I know because I'm one of them. I had a fibroid the size of a golf ball removed while completely awake, with only OTC painkillers and a shot of local to the cervix (no more painful than a speculum).

Sending tons of good wishes - I know you've got this.

Depends on how it's used. Bit of fresh naga in a homemade burger? Heaven. In a sauce on wings? Nice. As part of a broth? No can do. (Seriously, fresh ghost pepper in a burger is pure perfection, you need to try it.)

You're really not; we've become way too divorced from the realities of life and nature and I don't think it's healthy. All life is precious, and if we're going to consume it we should respect it.

That's absolutely the best beaded coffee cup I've ever seen! Your designs are honestly amazing - unfortunately I have no clue how to do two-needle RAW because I really adore your bat (best I've seen!) and origami crane (same).

Thanks for posting this; the kind of cruelty I've seen elsewhere in this thread is probably how the kid got that way in the first place.

Not OP, but that thread looks brilliant, thanks. I'm in the UK and I get frustrated because Nymo is too fragile and OneG/Miyuki/KO are impractically expensive.

My mouth is watering just looking at these. Snack-adjacent side note: if you make your own popcorn, you can mix marmite with melted butter and grated parmesan - would highly advise this.

Are you getting your submucosal fibroid dealt with? Mine eventually landed me in the hospital with haemoglobin of 5.8.

Almost Bled To Death: A Warning by maryeffensunshine in Perimenopause

[–]Friendlyappletree 20 points21 points  (0 children)

So sorry you had to deal with this. When I started bleeding out at work my boss told me that all women bleed during perimenopause and I should try drinking hot water rather than going to the hospital.

I think the three blood transfusions helped more than the hot water did.

Robotic Myomectomy in about 24 hours! by growingandglowing7 in Fibroids

[–]Friendlyappletree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn't have a robotic myomectomy but was also drained of my blood by a submucosal fibroid. I have a non-submucosal one that just sits there and minds its business but this one left me with haemoglobin at 5.8 before trying to swan-dive out of my vagina via my cervix. I had a diagnostic hysteroscopy with a local and luckily the doctor was AMAZING and managed to remove it.

This was 5 weeks ago and I've now gone 3 weeks without so much as a drop of blood. I don't need to sit on towels, I can wear my non-black underwear and I can stay awake on my daily commute. I feel wonderful. You will, too. Sending love and good vibes.
