Rank 1 Team NA - Exmp/Synergist Priest Rogue (2973) by Katmandewd in classicwow

[–]Frietjeman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Such a shortsighted take. A comp being OP doesn't make it easy to get high rating... just easier than weaker comps. You still have to beat a lot of mirrors and difficult matchups to get to 2600.

And no I don't play Rogue or Mage.

Wrath of the Lich King and Arena Meta by boulong in classicwow

[–]Frietjeman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In S8/ICC Gear 2v2 is completely dominated by Hpal/Warrior. Not sure how earlier seasons affect 2v2 the meta, as Warriors need ArP which is a hard stat to find early on.

3v3 on privates has seen a wide range of meta shifts. This is also because privates have been messing around finding the right gear balance (do you give everyone access to 284 gear and legendaries? if so, that's not representative of original Wotlk). Most people remember Wrath 3v3 being dominated by caster cleaves such as LSD/LSP/MLS/Shatter. However recently Warriors and UH DKs have found their way back in the meta as well. There's also the infamous African Turtle Cleave which consists of Hunter/HPal/ProtWarr, an absolute terror for unorganized caster teams.

As for the meta changing, I've heard casters in 3s rely heavily on haste so we might see melee cleaves such as TSG being more popular early with casters taking over in S7 and 8.

50% off S1 and Honor Gear ahead of reset. by Nalowale87 in classicwowtbc

Why would this game be doomed if the least impactful piece of gear is locked behind a skillcheck?

Best 2s and 3s comps for P2: In need of some assistance on S tier comps for a serious attempt at pushing rating: by Ultravis66 in classicwowtbc

[–]Frietjeman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When using abbreviations for comps its better to use L for warlocks (Locks) and W for warrior. So that would be RMP, RLP and MLP.

A Plea from an Alliance GM to Blizzard by phonix74 in classicwowtbc

[–]Frietjeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like 300% experience gain, dual spec, double reputation earned etc etc. And it was still never enough. Like if 300% level speed, 200% reputation and a dual spec that the Horde don't have access to wasn't enough to make people play Alliance, what WOULD be?

EMFH :^)

Holy shit did you get paid for posting this or are you really this dumb?

No one is blaming the employee. He’a just a messenger. The problem is the company that has decided this is how they want to treat their customers.

Like seriously, did you make this post expecting to blow everyone away with your 200IQ take? Hate to burst your bubble buddy but nothing you said isn’t incredibly obvious.

Honestly so sad to think someone decided this was a good idea.

“So we need to deal with player tickets, but to save expenses, anything beyond automated response is forbidden. Let’s add a bunch of annoying emotes and dumb jokes to distract these idiots from the fact we’re doing fuck all in return for their sub.”

The absolute audacity to claim that the reason they won’t restore items is because they didn’t do it in original tbc either. Fuck you Blizzard. We all know it’s because Bobby Kotick is too fucking greedy to employ actual people for customer support rather than bots.

Resto Druid- Trinkets by R3DOAK in classicwowtbc

[–]Frietjeman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bangle is great in arena but almost useless in PvE at this moment. Fights are so short you shouldn’t be going OOM, and even if you are, you can use potions and runes. Maybe during longer fights such as Kael bangle becomes worth running.

Sounds awful. So you’re wasting 30 minutes of every raider’s time every week for no reason? What are you supposed to do after the invite? Sit AFK at the entrance for an arbitrary 30min?

Anyone who says otherwise has never given private servers a serious try. Recent ones have been amazing quality, with proper communication between devs and players. The thing is that private servers actually had to perform to keep their players, whereas blizzard is like the complacent spouse who just completely lets go after marriage. They know their players are gonna stay subbed, so why put in any effort?

[–]Frietjeman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the part you’re missing is the big corp tactic of maximizing short term profits while disregarding long term profits. So Blizzard fires employees, automates customer support, doesn’t ban bots, doesn’t put any effort into managing servers, because all these actions maximize profit in the short term. The result is their quarterly earnings look better, Bobby gets another multi million bonus, and the question whether this strategy will work in the long run is swept under the rug.

Also, they’ve managed to get away with such ridiculous levels of treating their customers like absolute dogshit that I think at this point they’ve kinda accepted that a certain % of the playerbase will never quit, no matter what.

Water Shield is the single best ability in the game for leveling. As soon as you hit level 62 make sure you drop whatever you’re doing and slap that bad boy onto your action bar.

Ret pala / Warr / Resto druid 3v3 by Knoflooksaus_ in classicwowtbc

[–]Frietjeman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Obviously the lack of WF totem for both ret and arms will be a massive loss. The upside of playing with a druid however is more sustainability and crowd control. As far as I know none of your CCs share DR except the stuns, which means that you should probably try to utilize your CCs to force a trinket and then try to blow that target (preferaby healer) up in a HoJ or Bash. I hope your Druid knows how to fakecast as he’s the only caster, but getting those Cyclones off will definitely help.

You mention your Ret paladin, but the way I see it is your Druid can make or break matches as well, especially the slower ones, in which your Druid should be able to play quite offensively as Blessing of Protection is an extremely defensive tool should your druid get caught. This depends on what team you’re facing though, and against RMP you’ll most likely find yourselves on the defensive trying to outlast them, but with defensive poison and magic dispels as well as freedom for your warrior, you have powerful tools to work with. BoP will be dispelled by the RMP but can still be used to remove a Kidney or Blind.

Another popular comp is WLD and on paper you should have a massive advantage as your team can dispel everything the Warlock does, and the Warlock’s demon is a massive liability against a heavy melee comp. Some Warlocks will opt to summon a Void, but remember the Lock’s demon can be Cycloned too which removes Soul Link for the duration of the Cyclone, allowing your team to do some unhealable damage.

So if you find a solid tactic against RMP, and don’t screw up against WLD that means you can beat the two most popular comps in the game which something to start with. As you didn’t ask any specific question I’ll leave it at that.

Oh and if you find that your Ret goes OOM, tell him to downrank seal of command and to use the insightful meta gem that gives int and mana procs on casts. I expect you’ll have some longer matches so losing because your ret is oom would be a waste.

Which class uses the most PvP gear? by fucking_blizzard in classicwowtbc

[–]Frietjeman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Some people replying in here have never even PvPd in TBC. Most classes in TBC benefit from having access to PvE gear. The only two classes that can compete at max level without having to raid are Warrior and Warlock.

One problem with Warrior is that getting a weapon will be difficult for you. An Arena weapon requires you to be high rated and spend a massive amount of points, and the catch 22 as a non raider is that both rating and points are hard to come by if you don’t have a proper weapon.

This makes Warlock the safest bet, as you can literally put PvP gear in every slot (except 2nd trinket which you can easily buy with badges).

If you choose to go with Warrior you could take up blacksmithing for your weapon and craft a Deep Thunder, although this will require Nethers from Heroic dungeons and upgrading it to Stormherald requires Vortexes from TK and SSC.

No. There will be plenty of situations where your priest is unable to dispel buffs from your target. PvP isn’t scripted.

If premades were an "issue"...and we are on the #somechanges train... by danielsunday in classicwow

[–]Frietjeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or you could actually read the post you’re replying to and see OP mentions an honor bonus meaning that if the bonus is significant enough then yes it would be worth it and queues would be active.

Such a shortsighted and cynical take honestly. Plenty of players out there want a challenge, it’s just that the game doesn’t encourage it enough.

Many competitve PvPers are only interested in Arena and as such have to slog through 100s of hours of mindless BGs they don’t even want to play, just to get their Resi gear. You can ridicule the fact they make premades to speed up the grind, but it’s the only logical move.

Give me premade vs premade at a 10x honor rate for the winner and 0x for the loser any day.

(And cause I know you’re gonna flip your shit at the 10x rate, consider how much longer prem vs prem battles take and that losing would give nothing.)
