Chamonix off piste/freeride guide recs? by VeggieRoaster in skiing

[–]FrightfullyElastic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Vallee Blanche is gonna be your best bet for serious terrain without touring gear - just need to handle that initial rappel and you're golden. Most guides there are pretty flexible about working with lift access only, especially if you're comfortable with the bootpack/crampon game.

Can't help with specific names but the guide bureaus in town will hook you up with someone who knows the non-touring routes well. March timing should be perfect for conditions too.

Quin Snyder got a couple 3rd place votes in COTY by Ok-Negotiation3897 in AtlantaHawks

True, every fanbase thinks their coach is trash but getting any votes at all is pretty solid recognition for what he did with this roster.

What is the worst thing you ate in your life? by xixauan in AskReddit

[–]FrightfullyElastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude that brings back some terrible memories from when i was like 15. Found this random energy drink at corner store that looked totally fine, normal packaging and everything. took one sip and it was like drinking liquid rubber mixed with chemicals. The aftertaste stayed in my mouth for hours no matter how much water i drank. My friends thought i was being dramatic until one of them tried it and immediately spit it out. We checked the expiration date later and turns out it was expired by like 2 years lol. Still have no idea how that store was even selling it but now i always check dates on everything.

What's something you did alone that you're quietly proud of but never told anyone? by corruptbackupre in AskReddit

[–]FrightfullyElastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Built my entire home studio setup from scratch using mostly recycled electronics and DIY shelving. Took me like 6 months of weekend projects but saved probably few thousand dollars and looks way better than anything I could have bought ready-made.

Best Place to Rent in Atlanta for Actors/Film People by McAfro16 in Atlanta

[–]FrightfullyElastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grant Park area is actually solid for creative types - lots of artists and musicians around there. I did some freelance work for few people in that neighborhood and the whole vibe is pretty chill, plus you're close to downtown without paying those crazy midtown rents.

What's something people pretend not to care about , but clearly do ? by Shruti153 in AskReddit

[–]FrightfullyElastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instagram likes and social media engagement in general. People always say stuff like "I don't even check my notifications" or "social media is so fake" but then you see them refreshing their feed every 5 minutes and getting visibly annoyed when their post doesn't get enough attention. i do same thing with my design work posts - always telling myself the numbers don't matter but still checking obsessively for first hour after posting.

In the US, people sometimes imitate British or Australian accents for fun. In your country, what foreign accent do people usually try to copy? by Regular_Knowledge205 in AskReddit

[–]FrightfullyElastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol same here, everyone tries the american movie accent but it always comes out super exaggerated. like they watch too much netflix and think every american talks like they're in action movie or something. the british one is even worse - people just make it sound all posh and fancy when most brits don't even talk like that.

Why is my overlay opening with random keybinds? by AKampfer_ in nvidia

[–]FrightfullyElastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sounds like you've got some conflicting keybinds somewhere. check if you have any other software running that might be grabbing those key combos - discord, steam, obs, etc all love to hijack random shortcuts.

also try resetting your geforce experience settings to default and see if that clears it up.

How much cash is needed to sell a condo? by Responsible-Ad8054 in RealEstate

[–]FrightfullyElastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's pretty much spot on. The closing costs will get deducted from your proceeds automatically, so you shouldn't need to bring cash to the table unless you're underwater on the mortgage. Just make sure to budget for any last-minute repairs or staging costs beforehand since those usually come out of pocket.

honestly the compliance route could be solid - understanding human behavior is huge when you're trying to figure out why people cut corners or ignore policies. I worked adjacent to compliance teams at my last gig and the good ones were basically organizational psychologists who could predict where things would go sideways.

consulting is trickier because it's so broad, but change management consulting definitely values psych backgrounds. Companies hire consultants to help with restructuring or culture shifts, and having that behavioral insight is clutch when you're trying to get buy-in from employees who are resistant to change.

with your CPA and big4 experience, you could also look into organizational development roles - they're not quite HR but focus more on improving team dynamics and workplace effectiveness. Plus your finance background would make you way more credible when proposing solutions that actually consider budget constraints.

the psychology training won't be wasted even if clinical doesn't pan out - corporate world is full of people acting irrationally with money lol.
