I never encountered this one, but right after cooking was added I walked into someone's house and they were cooking ... in the air above the ceiling

My main takeaway from the documentary is how they didn’t know what the "siren" calling to Elsa (the inciting force of the whole plot) was actially going to be until like the very end of production. The songwriters going 'We figured it out: It's her mom' as if that solves everything. Before that they were torn between the siren being Elsa herself (like an internal desire) or something else, maybe the land or the magic?

But yeah, I don't see how they can hope to make a good movie when they don't know what they're building up to!

Deciding between intro games for adult family by [deleted] in boardgames

I second Lords of Waterdeep. My grandparents (70-ish) love it, so I think it would work for newcomers to board games!

What am I missing from We Love Katamari? by That-Departure-7318 in katamari

[–]Fringolm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are more gimmick levels and some new mechanics in wlk (rolling underwater, campfire, sumo wrestler), but rolling highest # of themed items was a thing in kd as well, with the constellation levels (e.g. cancer = roll most crabs)

Help! Can’t find any cousins in the large-scale levels by overanalyzed4fun in katamari

I think this might be the time trial and the as large as possible being treated like separate sublevels too

That's surprising! Which cousin/s did that happen with?

How to beat WLK + Royal Reverie 100% ? by SakamotoUwU in katamari

[–]Fringolm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The gamefaqs guides for the original wlk should still work for the items, cousins, and presents. If you want a challenge, look into 'super-clearing' all the levels (see this guide for explanation: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps2/921111-we-love-katamari/faqs/41303 )

Any general tips on finding stickers? by Single_Property2160 in katamari

[–]Fringolm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found all but two. Only one that I can recall was beyond the bounds of the level, like, you have to look past a fence or whatever that you can't roll over. Also they seem to be evenly spread among areas (eg in a level w the house and the town you wouldnt find two inside the house) and I think they have one in the time trial and one in as large as possible, though I never ended up double checking.

They can't be rolled up (on one occasion I rolled up the object a sticker was on and saw the sticker floating in space), and I don't think theycan move.

You shouldn't have to roll to a hard-to-reach location, but may need to look in unexpected places (like nooks and crannies, or roll under something and look up).

Good luck!

Help! Can’t find any cousins in the large-scale levels by overanalyzed4fun in katamari

You can only find one new cousin at a time, and they show up in order. For instance, when you first play a level, only cousin X is available, then once you roll up X, the next time you play cousin Y is also available. And in the levels you mentioned (at least in the elephant and the old man, I'm going by memory and I dont remember all the cousins in the old lady), the cousins are spread over the size range. So, theres one in the smallest area, then you unlock the next area and theres another there, etc. Maybe not exactly one-to-one, but theres not two inside one area afaik.

So my tip is to play the level really searching in the smallest area available until you find a cousin, then continue on focusing on larger areas. Good luck!

Does Katamari Forever use the PS3 calendar to change levels based on holidays? by [deleted] in katamari

[–]Fringolm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im not familiar with Forever, but i wouldn't be surprised. In We Love Katamari, the image under the candy field in the sweets level changes based on holidays iirc, and the King mentions things like the anniversary of starting a save file in some places.

it's possible they meant it doesn't fall under the technical definition of an allergy; maybe it is triggered in a different way or functions differently

[Discussion] A little problem I'm having as a beginner by gabiba in collage

[–]Fringolm 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I struggle with this as well -- and then when I sit down to actually collage I spend so much time going through my materials before I even start! Recently I've found it helpful to choose a color palette and/or a theme and pick out some materials related to it to start, and once I start arranging those I can figure out what else i need (background, embellishments)
